Home Slice:

Use the "cd" command to change folders. First, type [cd..] to move back up a folder, then [cd "Program Files\StepMania CVS\Songs"]. Be sure and use the quotes, or it'll try to go to a folder called "Program".

XxDestinzX:

Unzip the bundle again, but this time, make sure the "use folder names" box is checkmarked. E13.gif (Especially if everything simply dumped to one folder.)

Get back into the command prompt. Where it should say "C:\Documents and Settings\(your mom's name)>" on a black screen... or window.
type "cd.." with no quotes and press enter. that should result in it saying "C:\Documents and Settings>" Typing cd.. again should put you at just C:\ (after pressing enter again). To get to that path, you need to type "cd Program Files\StepMania CVS\Songs", press enter and you should get "C:\Program Files\StepMania CVS\Songs>". Now you can run Dancing Monkeys if that's where it's stored at. Dancing monkeys.exe blah blah blah. Hope that helps.

I'm pretty sure that you actually have to have an mp3 file for it to decode.. i don't remember if it works on wma's or not. I think you need mp3s or wavs. Either way, your computer must be able to play mp3s. There may even be a program you need... it's been awhile since i've ran this program, and I'm not at home where it's installed, but i'll look tonight and see if i can see anything... also, you have a typo in your text above... that could be a problem too... Steapmania.

try a dfferent song, the song you are using has too many beat changes and dancing monkey cannot accurately determine the BPM (beats per Minute)

I'm trying to run DancingMonkeys.exe but it automatically closes in 1/10 of a second.

I keep getting that too...bad install maybe? Is there any time which the specified mp3 has to end before? Does it need to be under a certain file size? Sounds like a cool program biggrin.gif

EDIT: ah nevermind, seems to be working now. The song didn't come out too well, didn't really have any beat going, and wasn't fun at all, guess i just gotta keep trying different songs till one works out.. Is there anyways to change the BPM from the command line?

It reacts oddly to files which have spaces in the name. The first word is created as a subdir in the output dir, and the rest are output in the bin dir. I did give it in quotes (otherwise it would've been interpreted as multiple arguments).

I haven't taken a look at the code yet, but are you screwing up something in argument parsing?

When you put it in Matlab do you just put all 3 files in a same folder and then run the one called Dancing Monkeys?
I did that and it said error line 688 column 73.

This is why I quit trying to help people. You don't know DOS, tough. Go play with SM; DM's too complex for you.

I'll officially kiss the ass of whoever has the balls to actually go learn about DOS and, as a result, is able to successfully run DM on a song, rather than coming on here and whining about it because they're ignorant or lazy or stupid.
