It really isn't that hard as long as you know how to do it. I was playing at my grandparent's house and they kept turning the volume on and off to see if it owuld mess me up. I found it was really easy.

Tried that today and found it really boring, but not too much harder for most songs.

If u know the song it really should be no problem at all. DOesnt change much for me. However for some who dont know the songs well, it can be a huge challenge

If you really heavily on the beat of the music to PA, it can be pretty damn tough (at the arcade at least.. home versions it shouldn't matter too much).

The one time I've tried, I got 50 some greats on Paranoia Clean mix.... ick.

I can't hear all that well (read deaf), but its is "Hard" to play without the sound "vibrations" but then I do have thaose blinking arrows to keep pace just that songs with sudden stops/slowdowns or anything with BPM changes make things harder to do.

The only time I play without the sound on is when I'm at home and my kid is sleeping and I don't want to wake her up. But I guess my feet stomping around kinda defeats that. Oh well.

I just watch the flashing arrows at the tpo of the screen to find the beat in "silent attack." It's not too hard.

It'd be hard for me. I use the beat of the music to help keep my rhythm and I don't look at the top of the screen when I play. I look at the bottom, so hidden and dark have no effect on my playing, but sudden is pretty challenging for me. ^ ^;

Heh... I used to play Bust a Groove (the music game with Kitty-N! Blue Knife whee) w/out sound. That was a bit hard. o.O

Assuming this was on Extreme, given how out of sync D2R is, it's not surprising that lack of volume would help.

playing without music is definetely a good way to practice timing. yes, it can be boring and frustrating, but it helps alot when you are playing songs that are badly syncronized. i often play with just the handclaps at home.
