What is the real thickness and weight of the foam insert? What is the weight of the mat?

The hard foam insert (which is the insert included with this mat) is over 1" thick (approximately 1.06") and it weighs over four pounds. The weight of the mat, without the insert, is three pounds. The shipping weight of this mat is much more due to the packaging and shipping box weight.

Is this the same mat as xxxxxx brand?
Many of the "Deluxe", "Ignition", and "Xtreme" dance mats are the exact same. The packaging, name, and label may be different, but the mats are essentially the same. The only major differences between the pads are the inserts used and whether they support six or eight arrows.

Important: when ordering an "Ignition" dance mat take note of the insert that is being used. Our 2.0 and 3.0 Ignition Pads use the standard dense foam. Most dealers sell low-priced "Ignition" pads with this dense insert. The more expensive "Ignition" pads ($48.95-99.95) use the hard foam, which can be found in our 2.1 and 3.1 Ignition Pads. When you order an "Ignition" pad, make sure you know what insert you are receiving. We have tried to produce the best images possible to show the difference, but it is very hard to do this with only a picture. Note that the standard dense foam is much more porous than the hard foam. Update (5/28/04): the hard foam now comes as six pieces, whereas before it was three pieces. The foam is still exactly the same as before. It is just cut differently to fit into a retail box in the future.

Why eight arrows?
The new 3.0 and 3.1 Ignition pads have eight arrows for full current and future compatibility with Playstation, Playstation 2, PC, and Mac dance games.

How long is the cable?
The cable is approximately 76 inches long.

I'm curious, the Red Octane brags about having the arcade sized circuitry. Does anyone know if this one also has that? Because I was planning on modding it anyway, so if they are pretty much the same, I'd go with saving the 50 bucks :-\

I had RO 2.0 s before I had these. Trust me, save yourself a lot of money and get Level Six pads, they are exactly the same.

Heyo, this will be my first post at the forums

I am just wondering as to if this pad can be used to play Pump It Up?
I am curious because of the 4 diagonal arrows, if they don't have the center as a PIU button, then whats the point of the bottom 2 diagonal arrows? (I know the front ones are used for Solo games)

No, you can't. There is no center sensor. Trust me, I tried, and it doesn't work.

Right. No center sensor.

But, level six is now selling USB versions of these that kick even more butt. I have one and it feels better than the PS2 version!

It also is literally plug and play on Win98+. No converter or anything.

I added in some stuff so in RC2+ it should also map buttons automatically.

I noticed that same pad is shown a few times for a different console(like one is for Xbox, another is for PS2). Does that mean that certain pads play for only one system and that you'd have to get two if you had a PS2 and a Xbox?

You could get an adaptor. They have adaptors that let you play on different systems.
