wait, what? I've never ever heard of a pad that doesn't work with an lpt port adapter. you just need to go download the NTPad drivers and possibly Joy2Key. configure those and you'll be all set.
EDIT: added a little bit of information to the FAQ. |

It came with a free parallel port adapter. I got the same thing, except that BNS doesn't call their "Ignition" an "Ignition 2.0", it's the BNS XTreme. And it comes with a free adapter.
...could I have been any more redundant...(and how many times have I posted this fact in this thread alone? )
EDIT: And yes, NTPad should do the trick, as if I haven't said that enough either _________________

it's only really useful for parallel port adapters. so joy2key+BNS parallel port adapter=good. joy2key+radioshack USB adapter=bad |

i had a usb adapter for stepmania, but it didnt map at all, and the reaction time was very poor.
i found plans for for a build-your-own parallel port adapter on emulatronia.com and it works great! no bugs, no timing delay, not too hard to build, and it was like 5 bucks!
parallel is the way to go.

theres a configuration that allows two pads to be hooked up at once:
and for the one-controller:
the diodes are 1N4148 from radio shack. The power supply is only necessary if you use the adapter with force feedback controllers.
You can find the whole article at http://www.emulatronia.com/reportajes/directpad/psxeng/index.htm. _________________

oh I was just talking about one that you could buy. I'm sure with the right tools you can make a two player adapter pretty easily and cheaply, but not a lot of people are probably going to opt for that. I'm sure more people are content with just buying a two player USB adapter (unless they are using two metal pads, in which case this setup would be ideal).
thanks for the info. I'll put that link up on the front page sometime soon and credit you with providing it :0) |

I searched quite a bit on Google and through these forums (and DDRmaniax for that matter) for an answer to this question. No luck so far, so...
Will the Red Octane Dual USB Adaptor work on Mac OSX? Mine works beautifully on my PC. I've never found anything that says it won't work on OSX, either...
So, any insight? _________________

erm, I've never tested the super dual box with a mac, but I imagine it would work since it runs off the same drivers as the smart joy plus (which works with OSX fine).
funny...I seem to have mentioned that on the front page |

I can honestly say I've never seen that adapter before...ever. I have no clue about what its issues are, but it's probably the same type of deal as a radioshack adapter. if it doesn't work even after installing the driver disk that came with it, chances are you got hosed (unless it is completely dead, in which case you should exchange it and try again). |

gah, ill try reinstalling the minidriver disk again, but are there any apps that can monitor things like that? |

lol.. I read that and for some reason I didn't think that applied to this box
Don't mind me, I'm just a tard XD |
ok, just to clarify (because this confuses a lot of people):
mayflash=RO dual adapter=lik-sang super dual box
they are all identical except for perhaps the color of the plastic or the length of the cable, because sometimes you'll see one online store selling an older model of the same adapter while another one sells a different model...the electronics (unless it is the very first version of it) are all the same. |

well I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but if you look in the control panel (assuming you are running windows) and check under game controllers, it should be listed there. if it isn't, your adapter is dead. you may just want to suck it up and buy one online...you have a better chance of finding a working adapter online than you do of ever finding one in a major electronics store. I mentioned radioshack because they are notorious for selling adapters that say "compatible with dance pads!" when in fact they are very incompatible. Comp USA might be pulling the same garbage :-\
edit: oh, alright. good to know you got it working XD |
