Challenge?

Why is their a challenge difficulty on extreme if none of the songs have it? It makes no freaking sense!

There's Challenge Steps or Challenge Mode. Heh, Challenge Mode is also known as Oni Mode.

there are also songs from MAX 2 that are only playable on Challenge difficulty, which is basically the same as Heavy...

In DDR Max and Max2 you were only able to play certain songs and certain steps for certain songs within the oni mode. In DDR Extreme those oni exclusives became avaliable for play within all of the other game modes. It's just another step of DDR getting easier, because DDR was starting to lose it's audience. The base mechanics of DDR are very difficult to master. DDR is bascially the Virtua Fighter 4 of musical games.

challenge is ONI, but they call the challenge songs ONI on the step if you go on the menu, Im sure of this.
