Hell, Don't tell me someone has to tell these people what song is harder. You don't even have to play the songs to know that. Just check out the step charts and see it for yourself. |
All he did was say that this thread's not pointless. People're not trying to tell others which song is harder. They're just giving their opinion on what's harder. There's a difference.

Damn, there's so much I can say regarding that, but I'll just say that that comment was just REALLY harsh. |
Understood!!! But if this really needs to be discussed then be it me to stop the threads of fate. If there are people that are getting some kind of intellectual stimulation from this thread then it can't be all that pointless.

MaxX is about 3 times harder than 300. In fact, many players will recall passing Max 300 long before they passed MaxX. On the same token, if a player beats MaxX first, then Max 300 is a sinch! _________________

Sorry to respond late I was working over the weekend.
I believe there are probably two people in Chicago who can AAA 300, it isn't too hard. Not something I can do but not something absurd anymore.
I'm not believing your Unlimited without pictures - no offense. Unlimited is by far the hardest single song to AAA in the game. There are no trivial parts of the song, it's 550+ steps and some of it is almost impossible to even conceive of. I could believe that there are two people in Chicago who could sdg it. I would even go so far as to believe that, there is probably a couple people in Chicago, who if they practiced really really hard, could AAA MaxX sometime in the near future. But have already or could just go to the arcade and do it on the spot? No.
Right now stateside there are just a few people within range:
-Reflexx, who largely keeps his scores secret, could do it and I imagine is quite close now.
-ZZZ could do it with alot of practice I believe
-Pickles will get it eventually
-I don't know FYRE is but I can believe he would be close
-Kevin and DJ Stunna are also just on the horizon.
There are almost definitely other people of skill out there that nobody knows about - like I said there are plenty of unkown people who I think could AAA Max300. But until you've seen your friend play with such godly ability that it's basically beyond belief, and STILL struggle for a bit before AAAing MaxX, you don't realize how truly hard the song is. I can understand why prior to JSB posting the picture alot of people thought it was impossible.
And now if I may reiterate what everyone seems to agree on:
MaxX > Max300 _________________

I find Maxx Unlimited easier to pass than 300.
300 is about keeping up with it. If you can't do stream, this song will delightfully kick you in the gonads and be quick about it.
Maxx Unlimited is easier to 'fudge' the steps. which is how I started passing it. Given, it can get a bit faster than 300. But the chaos steps near the end along with the stream, you can halfass those and stll pass the song _________________

Although it took me longer to pass MaxX (timewise), it probably took me fewer net plays. I actually believe that MaxX is easier to pass, but it's definately far harder to PA than Max300.
Here's the thing... MaxX has a fair amount of tough sections, but almost all of them are bracketted by fairly easy stuff. As long as you have the stamina, you can BS this song pretty well. Additionally, the freeze slowdown and the gallops before the freeze are both good spots to recover some stamina.
Max300 is a lot less forgiving due to having more long runs and fewer sections that are good for lifebar recovery (the triple section and the bit right before the last run are about it). |

Clearly, there are lots of people posting here that they find Max300 harder. I am one of them. And I'm not a noob who doesn't play 10s, I can consistantly pass every 10 all the time that isn't PSMO everytime, EXCEPT Max300, because I will on rare occasion muck up the machine gun runs. As for PAing, obviously MaxX is much harder to PA. Passing wise? There are more than enough people already who clearly play 10s who have already posted that they find Max300 harder to pass.
There is a very small minority of players who can PA 10s well, there is a much larger group of people who play to pass them. This topic is about both PA and Passing, and clearly a lot of people disagree with you on which is harder to pass. |

Am I the only one who seems to think that LoM is much easier than 300 or MaxX? In my experience, LoM has always been so much easier to pass. That brutal run at the end just requires some bar rape and fudging to pass--my strategy has always been that I usually have a full life bar going into that on LoM, so I try to concentrate on three of the arrows (usually left, right, down) and hit the up when I can. It's a lot easier for me that way...same with MaxX, if you use that strategy and you can make it past the jumpy section towards the end, you're home free as long as you've got a pretty high lifebar. _________________
