Yeah, I guess it's just how some other person views it...
Long Train Runnin' is a pretty difficult song for only a 7 footer.... _________________

one of the hardest 7 footers. Ever heard of easy 9s, hard 8s? Yea, there you go. |

i heard from somewhere (possibly an unreliable source) that the person at bemani that actually creates the steps for the song gets to rate it on the step meter and gets to say how it looks on the groove radar. go fig. |

Long Train Runnin' is easy to pass and has few step, hence the 7 rating. But as a song to do WELL on, it's not easy. The 7 is based on its passability. As for getting good PA, it's an 8 in my book...it took me forever to AA! >_<
Other examples:
Somewhere Over the Rainbow
On The Jazz
Miracle (damn 16th jumps!) |

To me, it's a 7 because it's easier than many 8-foot songs, and while the steps go with the music, the song itself is pretty simple. I mean, if Long Train Runnin' should be an 8, then so should Secret Rendezvous(which is somewhat harder, in my opinion). _________________

I disagree with everything you just posted. Except for sandstorm, because I've never played it.
DROP OUT A 10??? You have to be kidding me... Daikenkai Oni is still too easy for a 9, and Sakura deserves to be a 10 because of those 2 stupid slowdowns make it very difficult to pass. (and it's difficulty to PA for me, stupid slowdowns)
As for Long Train Runnin' though... easy to pass (which is why it's a 7) hard to PA. |

LTR is the harder 7 footers. Just like Witch Doctor, Yozoru no muko is one of the harder 8 footers. |

I know what you mean. I sometimes play Witch Doctor and how in the world do they count 8 when it should be a 9!? |

A badly classified song is My Summer Love heavy.
Far too easy for a 9-footer. |

one must understand...it was classified as a 9 footer for the simple reason that it came out when there was no such thing as a speed mod, therefore it was hard to read for most players. |

True, but I don't use mods except solo... but that's just me. I understand. |

Witch Doctor heavy is a no B.S. song. You can't kid yourself of what kind of physical state you are currently in, because you will fail badly and if auto fail isn't turned on; it's going to be ugly. You really got to get plenty of rest, eat the right foods, do a good warm up or something like that. I'm not sure what it is, but I have noticed that the only time I could pass Witch Doctor heavy (with speed mods and solo arrows) was when I was feeling pretty lucky. I still say it's a 8 footer though. If you are in good shape it's not much harder than other 8 footers. The rhythm is very easy to follow, especially if you learn to play without speed mods and solo arrows.
Does anybody else wish DDR would use the same difficult system used in Giutar Freaks/Drum Mania? The scale of 100 system seams to be much more accurate than labeling songs like Sakura "easy 10 footers". |

Back in my day we liked the ratings that we were given and we didn't say oh it should be a Cata (we didn't have a 10 yet) and not an 8 (otherwise known as Exuberant)
We liked what we were given.
Drop Out - 8
End of the Century - 8
Paranoia KCET - 8
Grr you people grr!! [/old people acting rant] _________________
