why would you need an xbox to ps2 converter? i haven't seen any pads that have an xbox control box. that would be the only reason u need an xbox to ps2 converter. if u do have one just flame me and we'll be even

Speaking of RO, I just received mine today. It's a real nice lookin pad except for removing all the plasti-wrap covers (real pain to do). I was kind of surprised to find a scrape on my left arrow also, but that doesn't matter to me(As if I needed to look at my feet...lol). I did notice the change from playing on a soft pad and going to a metal one. BIG CHANGE! Other than the scrape, real nice pad. Definitely recommend buying this pad. Forget about the CF guys...

I dont think you've ever played on a CF. I was skeptical about the CF myself until I played on one at my friend's house.....AMAZING!!! SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE RO!!! WORTH THE 100 DOLLARS MORE FOR SURE. Oh and my friend spilled water on his RO and it's been frick up since then. That doesn't frick up a CF.....

why don't u just build a regular pad with wiring for ps2's. then get a ps2 to xbox converter. so simple! why didn't i think of that? then you think...WHAT THE HELL?!?!?

just put step mania on your xbox.

get the x-ecuter mod chip in your xbox. it costs about 30 dollars for the chip. find someone in your area who does it, pay them 20-30 dollars and have them toss in a 120 gig hard drive as well. throw step mania on your xbox now you have everything. the mod chip also lets you burn games to your hard drive along with mvies and you're able to put on emulators as well. my friends xbox has like 600 nintendo games, 700 super nintendo games, 200 genesis games, and like 25 different arcade emulators along with the 40 xbox games and step mania.

the hard drive is usually pretty cheap if you can pick one up off ebay.

not worth it, I have SM on xbox and a pc, Id take the pc anyday, you cant use background animations on the xbox version and the text for the songs is really hard to read because it was ment for the resolution of a monitor not a tv.

and to the guy who said just make a ps2 controllbox and use a psx>xbox converter, then you have to worry about lag issues. yes i know there are adapters that dont have lag but its soooo much easier to just to an xbox cbox and not have to worry about making/buying a psx>usb adapter that doesnt lag.

damn.....another reason why i want Xbox. Then again....can't miss DDR Extreme.....yeah. It's better to play with friends anyway instead of with strangers. plus my internet's really slow (dial-up) so xbox live wouldn't do me too much good. Fable's gonna be awesome though

As for the BNS- you could cut urself a polycarbonated arrow (or u can get lexan, which is a lot stronger, and will never break)

If your BNS uses 2 sheets of acrylic, put 2 in there, and sandwich a step arrow graphic between the 2 of them. You can go to Kinkos and get one printed full size for not too bad of a price.

If it uses only 1 acrylic arrow, and then has some black stuff on the bottom of it + aluminum foil, all u need to do is cut one sheet of acrylic, then put some insulation tape under it that is the same size of the others, and then add 2 strips of aluminum foil. Just basically copy the other arrows.

The arrows are the ones you just mentioned that have the black stuff on the bottom. One thing confuses me though. The arrows are connected to the rest of the pad by wires. How do you take the wires from the old arrow and replace them onto the new arrow?

wait a sec, do the arrows light up with leds? If so, that wire isnt really needed, you can just rip it off and tape the ends with some electrical tape...

in case nobody's said this in previous posts (i haven't been on the forums long enough to read this entire thread much less have the pateince to do so), i emailed RedOctane about the contact system in their metal pad, and they said that they now indeed use metal plate instead of foil but they have not replaced the copper. just wanted to point that out in case anyone wants to know...

Im not sure if i will be heard very well on this 95 page thread but im afraid if i post this some where else someone will get mad.

Ok, im about to MOD my RO Metal Pad with Rufus's theory or whatever, i just need to go by the sheet medal. Ok, my pad has foil with it, IM PRETTY DAMN SURE ITS FOIL. I opened it up, and the copper had about 1 or 2 large stratchs per arrow. Do i need to get new copper or what!? The foil is VERY wrinkled and ugly looking, im putting sheetmedal over it no doubt.

I don't have a problem with the arrows cracking, i weigh 100 Pounds, i should worry about it ever happening, and i have been playing heavy extensivly for about 6 months with my pad.

The reason i am MODing my pad is because a couple of arrows dont respand ANYMORE AT ALL! Some one tell em wahts wrong.

Once again I'll put my question up here and hope to have it answered...My RO pad has a sticking arrow. The left one makes a half-buttocks popping noise every time I push it, and during songs it won't hold a freeze arrow. It registers the arrow being hit most of the time, but when I hold the freeze it immediately loses the connection and gives me a No Good. Can somebody give me a solution to my very annoying problem?
