It sounds like your pad is ghost stepping and the sensors are smashed i would try to take out the insert and replace it with a cut to size piece of plywood or keep the insert in and put a chair mat in above it if you can fit it.

close the rip as tight as you can and apply duck tape over it as smooth as possible. Hope it works for you.

And I'm NOT considering eBay, because I imagine that individual sellers' return policies are nonexistant.
Anyone who has a LevelSix DX Ignition pad - are you still pleased with it? Let me know - they seem to be the cheapest, have a decent return policy, and they seem to be very well regarded. |
DO NOT get the Redoctane pad it stinks and dies out way to quick. But actually i would try the BNS Dx...i have it and it works like a charm on 7's and 8's at least 4 times a week for 1-2 hours at a time with the occasional 9 footer. It is great and for a new player would be good to learn with.

| I just got a RO Ignition 2.0 pad a couple weeks ago, and one of the buttons is sticking. I'm pretty sure it's the Start button, because everytime I try to start a song it immediately resets the game to the menu screen. It's like the button is being repeatedly tapped. I tried messing around a little with the control box, but I don't want to do anything more without some guidance. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. |

I was wondering, what is the best way to transport a Ignition Pad, either folded or unfolded, so that it can be shielded from the elements (i.e.: rain and snow). What I used to do was use garbage bags bound with duct tape. Is there a better way?

Well if it is still in warranty get anew one....or i would cut it open to work on it. Because it sounds like you have a hole in the foam layer in between circuits. Or it is just disentegrated or something in that area.

Alright... So I opened it up to see if the foam was worn down, and while it was in a few places, it still isn't the source of the problem. I tried putting a piece of cardboard temporarily between the plasctic and foam layers, and it still reset the game every time I tried a song. I considered just cutting the black path to the Start button altogether, but I think the problem is in the control box circuitry. I already read through the guide that covers the circuit board, but seeing as how my problem is the exact opposite, I don't really know how to fix it. |

| I just wanted to make a comment on the Red Octane vs. BNS pad question that I haven't seen addressed here. The surface material and feel of the two pads are VERY different. The Red Octane is like nylon and the BNS is like puffy vinyl. After playing on a Red Octane for quite a long time, I found the BNS vinyl to be a real pain, my socks stick and don't slide as easily. Maybe if you use a BNS and then try a Red Octane, you might find it doesn't have as much cushion. Has anyone else gone through this, and if so do you eventually stop noticing the difference? At any rate, I think it is definitely something to consider--anyone saying BNS and Red Octane is ignoring a major difference. |

Well i think i know what your problem is. Your sensor layer inside your pad may have folded over in that area. If you are willing to cut your pad to check. Once you cut it i would suggest following the previously mentioned page.

so basically, the RedOctane Ignition is any other plastic pad modded with foam?
i've seen these mega huge deluxe things with a bar and everything, but they're full-blown hard pads.

shouldve asked this in my last post, but what about the pads made by GameStop? are those reliable or does nobody know?
i'm starting to think that it's a better idea to just buy 2 hard pads. sounds much more reliable than what i've heard about these soft pads.

im not an insane dancer. 4-footer is the norm for me, sometimes i do 8.
would it work well if i nailed the pads down to a stage?
