This is the Gamecube release list. Notice the two games in bold. These are both Music games announced for Gamecube. Get on da mic is supposidely a rap simulator that uses the new Gamecube Microphone (Which will also be used for Mario party 6). I am assuming that this will be similar to Karaoke revolution. This will have career modes and other things. The other is Get on da floor. I have not heard much about this game, but I have heard rumors of a Gamecube dance pad. I am assuming that this will be a DDR style game. I do not know what type of stuff will be in it though. Both of these games are set to come out in November. I find it odd how there is almost no information of these games. This is especially odd, because the release date is so close. XS games does not even have Gamecube as a platform on their site. Anyone know anything? |

They're also coming out for PS2 so I bet they use the Karaoke Revolution mic and DDR pad.
I'd say, think "ghetto" mainstream-(c)rap DDR with easy as hell steps and you have Get on da Floor... |

Play as a black guy and rap to get to the top! Use magical fireballs that come out your hands in your music video and marry a white chick when your older... yeah sounds like a GREAT game.....
Or at least thats my perspective on that from the screenshots. |

These games seem to be heavily influenced by rap.
While I don't care for rap AT ALL, it was a smart move to make these.
I just bet they are gonna sell well. _________________

While it is a smart move, I think the people that this game is targeted at (conformists) are more into playing Madden 2005 or Halo. _________________

*blinks*...conformists...yeah, 'cause, ya know, no one but trendy people dance to hip-hop. I mean, remember when people first started breakdancing back in the mid-70's? They were ALL conformists. Good gosh, people, it's like you all think that dancing is only done to Japanese pop and tribal-beats by RE-venge.
I hope that the dancing one at least turns out and sells well (along with Donkey Konga). With any luck, it could open Konami's eyes to possibly putting rhythm games on the GameCube. _________________

While you can rap along to the songs, you can also have just the beat playing so you can hold your own freestyle battles with friends. It's pretty hot. |
Wow. Where will the "pad" come in on this and how would you win the battle? Would the game rate you or something? _________________

First of all, ghetto can be used as both an adjective and a noun.
A place can be a ghetto. By the same token, something can be described as being ghetto (with the same connotation of being run down, poor, etc).
Like, you park a nice car in the ghetto, and it'll get stolen. Putting a black and white TV on the dash of your nice car, on the other hand, IS ghetto.
Now, with that out of the wa, how about don't pass judgment on a game until you either get the chance to play it, or until more information comes out about it. It's a surefire way to sound like an idiot if you don't. |

It can also be a walled city, used in history mostly for those of the Jewish faith when the Christians needed a scapegoat. Or Nazis. Whatever. _________________
