A unique game where the player steps on four arrows accordingly to on-screen arrows to the rhythm of music. While there are difficulty levels to measure the playing experience, each song also has their own difficulty ratings. With an easy learning curve, upbeat dance music, and suitable for players of almost any age, players can have fun playing their favorite songs, or challenging themselves to high-intensity ones. It's a great combination of a fun-filled experience and an exceptional workout. |

DDR is a game that requires stanima, quickness, and rythem. You step to the beat of the music on four arrows placed on a floor pad. DDR requires a lot of skill and practice, but once mastered it is a fun way to get excercise and is a great group activity.
lol thats so cheesy your principal might like that though.I personally think "waka laka time b*tch" is the best though |

i thought he DIDNT say "ITS WAKA LAKA TIME B!TCH!". either way, no one in their right mind would say that to a principal. if grammar is what you need... Of course i didn't say that , its a little thing called sarcasm. _________________

Worst attempt at cleverness. Ever.
Are you trying to describe how the game is played? The objective? The community? I think you should have an idea of what aspect of DDR you want to focus on before you try and create a description. Personally I would focus on some of the mainstream attention it's been getting lately, specifically with regard to weight loss. That kind of thing, in the light of the mass obesity problem in the US, tends to draw attention (hence why there have been so many articles about it). Make sure you have statistics, not just unsupported claims (you may know things that you say are true, but when you are asking your school to shell out x thousand dollars for a machine, you're going to have to provide undsiputable proof). Here's how I would organize your "sales pitch":
1) Outline the basics of the game. Talk about the music, the input (the pads), the difficulties. Don't spend too much time here, since anyone who has little with the game is going to get bored if you get to technical or specific about this.
2) Talk about the game's benefits: weight loss, exercise that is easy to get kids into, the sense of community (probably worth bringing up DDRFreak's 40,000+ members), etc. This is where you want your real argument to come in. By the end of this section, you want your "buyer" (the principal) ready to buy a machine for the school AND for his home.
3) Talk about the costs. You HAVE to do the research about the costs of a machine, maintenance, etc, before you take this to someone else. By doing so, you show both initiative and understanding of the product, which is a big seller. If you did well enough with part 2, then this aspect has the potential to be less important, but you always want to be prepared.
A possible variation is to switch the order of 2 and 3 (sort of a "bad news first" approach), but the downside is that it runs the risk of turning your principal off to the idea immediately, closing your options. The advantage is that people are most impacted by the last thing they hear, so even if you go with the original order, you want to close on a positive note.
Now I'm not much of a writer, so I don't think I could write your "sales pitch" for you, but that is my advice on how to tailor your argument. (And even there, I'm only going to be a sophomore in college, so take my advice with a grain of salt).
Good luck. _________________
