I happily passed Boom Boom Dollar with an A after one week of practice...

*thats light mode...*

and I too, couldn't beat lesson mode. Couldn't get 1/8 notes for the life of me.

I actually picked up pretty fast (being a musician and all), but I was stuck on Light for-friggin-EVAH before breaking out to Standard.

I started almost 2 years ago on my friends Konamix. I failed On the Jazz, the passed it, then passed Absolute right after. I started getting B's on 1-3 footers on the first day, but then it started taking forever to improve after that.

When i first started i wasn't bad in my opinion. I could do really all the songs on begginer (I play DDR Extreme in the arcade) Then i wanted to try light mode....... thats when i really sucked!!!!!!! i tried one light and went crazy with my footing. It got to the point where i would miss the pad arrows completly and just step on metal. But some time after i got used to it and moved on up to standard!!!!!! And i starting to do DOUBLES!!!!!!! (well ok.... i have never done doubles but this saturday i will....)

My cousin had mentioned to me that DDR was a really fun game. So I went out to the mall and picked up DDRMAX and two beatpads. When I first tried I looked pathetic. My average scores were D's and Ordinary world was really hard for me on light. After alot of getting pissed and watching my cousin do better than me, I decided to try as hard as I possibly could and ended up AA'ing OVERBLAST! on light. It just takes alot of practice and a bit of risk taking. E13.gif

When I first started playing at the arcade before I got the pad at home I would struggle with Cutie Chaser on light, and get laughed at by the kids waiting to play. Then, When I introduced myself to DDR Freak, I could barely pass Healing Vision on standard. I am in heavy, hehe I've come a long way! E1.gif

I failed Have You Never Been Mellow on Basic during my first game. I thought you were supposed to hit the arrows before they reached the top, and was wondering why I was getting Misses. I then remained on Basic for about a year, thinking that no one actually played Trick or Maniac. riiight.gif

I started out on Extreme about 10 months ago and I wasn't too bad. The first song I played was look to the sky and i got a B on it (on light). I liked the song so I decided to play the game alot more. By the end of the day I was able to almost every 4 footer.

Well I played flash flash revolution just to know when to hit the pads. Anyhow, I could beat like, butterfly on light....after a few weeks I managed to beat speed over beethoven and then R&P. After that I continued progressing and by October (started in July) I was able to beat Irresistblement.

How bad was I?

US PS2 - Have memories of Remember You and Cutie Chaser, and wondering how anyone could ever keep up with arrows scrolling that fast (this is 1x). Took 3 weeks to pass all of lesson mode.

Arcade - Before playing my first arcade set (didn't play arcade until reaching standard) I tripped over the pad before putting credits in

I had trouble beating Break Down of beginner mode. Now I am better than my friend who originally turned me on to the game.

I did suprisingly well the first time I played. I could A a lot of songs in light mode right away (started on Max for playstation so there was no beginner mode). However, it took me months and months to move up to standard. I was on standard for about a week, and then went up to heavy. Light I was stuck on forever though...

I also played Flash Flash Revolution, but that was after I started DDR....I think thats why I pretty much skipped over standard mode. I learned what to do online so I didn't really need it.

First time in the arcades I did pretty bad with, however. I fell off the pad 0_o
