i would call a newbie some one who is ,duh, new to the game. i would also call a newbie some one who picks the same song or small set of songs over and over, or the newb songs (butterfly, crash, we will rock you, we are the champions, etc) and i would call a newb some one who thinks that they are LIEK OMG, IM TEH BEST EVAR!! when they really suck and have problems passing standard songs _________________

IMHO being called a newbie isn't a bad thing. It just means that you're new to the game and you don't know what you're doing.
Now n00bs on the other hand... |

A person who has played DDR only once, twice, or never before.
It's perfectly acceptable to help them if they seem to be having trouble, but beware: this is the time that separates the newbies from the n00bs!
And could people please stop predicting about when this topic is going to be locked? _________________

The count continues.
BTW, a "newbie" is someone who plays ALL their songs on Beginner (but usually graduates to Light within the hour)
A "n00b" is someone who claims they can do (insert: PSMO, MAX300, etc.) blindfolded with their legs tied behind their backs _________________

Yeah thats true. I was playing with this kid who had just started yesterday on max2, and he asked me how I get to Rhythm and Police. I kindly told him that R&P wasn't on this mix and if he wanted to play it he should play Extreme. I had no problem doing that. What I did have a problem with was when I ran into another little kid that saw me play and said he could beat me in any song on any difficulty. So I picked Drop Out on heavy, and the kid walked off the machine in like 7 seconds. He complained that I picked a song that was too hard, even though he said any song.

Those who made a stupid post along the lines of "this thread will get locked..." were warned. There's absolutely no reason that it would get locked, so please stop trying to be cool, because you're all failing miserably.
Being a newbie is being new to whatever you're doing. Hence the name. It has nothing to do with skill level, because there are people who have played for a week and can pass a cata, and people who have played for years and cannot. Skill does not allow you to graduate from newbie-dom. _________________

A Newb is someone that is just playing for the first time or are not ready for standard/trick mode yet. i think people who have the balls to try out DDR in an arcade with more experienced DDR players is something admirable, because it does take some guts for some people to go out there and pretty much perform infront of strangers. just my 2 cents though lol remember everyone was a N00b some time or another _________________

How can you tie your legs behind your back?
Anyway newbies are new players. _________________

I'm pretty sure it's not gonna be locked, considering an admin posted in here defending the topic. Try reading the thread first.
Newbie - newish player
N00b - annoying newish player
Simple as that! _________________
