You know who philosophers compare thinks to other things and make a relationship between the two? For example, how you relate "Slow and steady wins the race" to the story of "The Rabbit and the Hare." Yes... try your minds to see if you can do this with DDR. Here's your example..
Sexy planet is a very nice song and good steps once you get into it. It's like a girl who is very beautiful but her character drives people away. She doesnt care because she has loyal friends who know the true her...
Now on the other hand...
Sexy Planet from Nonstop Megamix is like the slut sister. She is just as sexy as her sister but with a very free character. She has been done by a lot of people. She is always done. Thats why those who have done her get somewhat tired of her seeing as she is the village whore.

I have a feeling this topic will be locked if you guys continue your redundant responses.
If you can relate DDR to aspects of life, post.

DDR is like my life because it's a story of hard work and perseverance. I work hard to get to the top, then someone sees me, picks it up, and somehow inexplicably draws a crowd by doing butterfly light. It's like a corporation; usually, the idiots get sent to the top.
DDR is also my life because I play it all the time. |

the game of DDR is a very multi-opinioned game...when I say multi-opinioned game I mean speed mods, difficulities, freeze arrow or no freeze arrow, dark, stealth, boost, no boost, solo, break, wave, 0.5x, those types of things, and tech or freestyle... _________________

DDR is like pop music in the US. People are too damn stubborn to open their minds to other songs and music aside from what is overplayed. Britney Spears Toxic three times in the same hour? I can top that! Matsuri Japan 3 songs in a row. _________________

DDR is like having a dead-end job. You spend all your time running in place, never getting anywhere, until you eventually fall down exhausted. Then, the boss points out how much of a failure you are and tells you to get out so the next person in line can do a better job.
Eventually, you might get good enough to get your job back, but then your boss just points out the fact that other people don't even have to see their work to get it done or are capable of pulling double shifts without complaint. He'll tell you that your work is "almost" good enough or is just "good", but never "great" or "perfect". When you do start doing perfect work, he'll just come back and say, "Yeah, but that one step in the process... You only did great on that. Do better next time."
And when you finally do everything perfectly? Yep, he'll say that you only got the job done because you were doing light labor, that he won't be impressed until you can do the heavy lifting around the office.
By the time you can satisfy him fully, he'll tell you that the company isn't going to be supporting your job anymore, that you'll have to go work for somebody else, possibly in the inflatables industry. _________________

Here's my (somewhat strange) DDR philosophy...
The DDR machine itself is like a person. People pay you to do your job which you find is only for them to walk all over you. The same three songs that everyone chooses are like your daily routine that never changes but you have absolutly no control over it. The pad is like your emotions/feelings. It has to be tough or the people around you will break you. Out of the corner of your eye (the screen) someone ense puts a coin in the line because no matter what, people are always ready and waiting to be the next one to use you. Even though you may not like the people that like to use you you always offer a helping hand even though it may not always be appreciated (like the bar). But you can take comfort in knowing that no matter how many people use and abuse you, very few of them can get the best of you, and those few are the ones you'll remember (like the high score list).
Well, that's my sort of cynical outlook on life. Hope you enjoyed. _________________

Wanna know about my philosohpy of DDR?
DDR is like a game. It's something you can enjoy that comes at a price. A game can be showcased in a public area, and you can temporarily play it at the price of $1.00. Ultimately, you can enjoy the game so much that you may be obliged to buy a home console version for $40.00, and play the game as often as you want. You begin to generate an addiction for the game, where you start to dream about the game. Sometimes, this addiction can become so severe that you imagine that you're playing the game when it is clearly nowhere around you. You begin to try to develop other ways of having fun with the game. You may even make a thread on a forum rediculous enough to compare a game to a real life scenario!

Hmm....I guess I'll give this a shot, however small it's going to be.
Can't Stop Falling in Love (the original ver):
With rhythmic beats that are slow and steady, similiar to that of someone's heart being broken. Falling in love with someone who doesn't seem to want them, depression slowly sinking in as the person can't help but think of this person that they want to be with, but doesn't feel the same.
CSFIL (speed mix):
The total opposite of the original ver, where the person's heart is beating rapidly, the joy and feeling of being in love with someone. To hold that person close and never wanting to let go of the emotions and feelings. But forever questioning if it's real or not.
Paranoia (doesn't matter which one):
In life we're all afraid of things we don't know and we're especially 'parnoid' of things we aren't expecting. Life is full of many change-ups and patterns that seem all to familiar, but suprises us at any given moment, leaving us shocked and baffled as to what to do. Only thing we can do is keep going one step at a time till we slowly get an understanding for whatever challenge we come up against and face.
*shrugs* I don't see much of a philosophy but it was worth a shot. _________________

MAX 300: Pure, unspoken rage. It symbolizes our deepest angers, hatreds, and even fears at the blistering rate of 300 bpm. If you can't take the heat, just stay out of the kitchen.
MaxX Unlimited: The same rage, only in more epic terms. It's no longer about anger, but about vengeance. We seek to conquer our inner demons and to prove our worth to those who have doubted us. However, the "stream" of emotions may become overwhelming and make us distraught, confused, or tired out. _________________

Hmmmm... this has to do with my belief that Konami, is secretly training people to be spies or secret agents. This includes Konamis games, and Bemani games as well. Hear me out...
Lets start out with DDR, well, it trains you you move quickly, especially on ur feet. It increases your stamina, your reflexex and such. ParaParaParadise helps to increase your arm and upper body movements, allowing you to be more flexible to move in tight spots. Beatmania, with enough practice/training youll get good at moving quite fast with just one hand, and multiple keys, good for hacking and breaking codes. And then to sum this all up, take the games Metal Gear Solid. It trains your minds to work in such situations, making you apart of their army of espionage soldiers. This is why i believe Konami training us commoners, as soldiers.
You can add on to my little philisophical theory, you may have thought of this too, hmmm... i dunno maybe its just me but ya. wat do you think, it some-what belongs in this thread. |

DDR Is like love when its a ugly person. And when people say "I wouldnt be caught dead doing that" You put you elboy on you knee, and you chin in your hand. You lift up your other hand and say "Why" like a philosipher. |
