I need a Dex Drive. Anyone have a link to where I can buy one other than ebay? I suppose that game stores wouldnt just have them for sale. Hey... who makes these dex drives (where did they come from)? _________________

Well, they are no longer manufactured. I got mine off ebay. Just do a search and you should get some hits. _________________

I noticed that, but does it still take precedence over the hex coding. I looked into the file and it has the right 4 digit machine code. _________________

Hmm. Alright, so I guess the only way to get around this problem would be to harcode the file, or is there a way to fix the header? _________________

The gamesave title is stored in the header in Shift-JIS, and that's the biggest thing you'll probably have to account for. If you make an edit for Max2 and one for PSMO, you should be able to see the differences and be able to hack something together. _________________

I have a Dex Drive and the program, Dexplorer. How do I put an mcs. file into a gme. file? I ask because I have the mcs. file for the Bemaniruler V and A edits and I wanna put them on a memory card. _________________

I think that it is alot friendlier and offers more options that the Dexplorer sotftware can even begin to touch. | Yes, .mcs is a format specifically created for PSXGameEdit, so it follows that you'd have to use it to work with .mcs files.
It's funny - this weekend, I overwrote a friend's DexDrive installation disks and he freaked out until I told him about PSXGameEdit. PSXGameEdit makes DexPlorer completely useless. _________________

thanks for the link! Will the dex drive also support PS2 mem cards? If not, will there be a problem (or rather, will this work) transfering the data from my ps2 mc to my ps1 mc (using a ps2)? _________________

I assume you're trying to download edits. If that's the case, download them, put them on the PS1 memory card, use the PS2 browser to move them to a PS2 memory card, and then use your PS2 DDR game to import the song in your library.
Any other possible application you're talking about doesn't require a PS2 memory card at all. _________________

I was wondering if anyone had pictures of the whole memory card setup, the card slots themselves, anything the card slots are hooked to and all cables, was wanting to see this to see if its possible to install them on a ddr ex machine that doesn't have them, also, if we did buy the slots and installed them, what would we have to do to get the machine to acknowledge that they were present and allow us to use them, also, if someone has an actual instruction manual to any ddr machine 5th mix or up, was wondering if we could see that, maybe get it scanned or pictures of the pages, any help would be very appreciative - MONKEY MADNESS |

For the memory card set up (I have seen pictures a LONG time ago), its basically the same thing that is there (with the 6 select buttons) PLUS a USB cable and a computer type power cord. _________________

Funny you should ask...Out of curiosity, I removed the memory card unit from my machine about a week ago to take pictures. I will try to get them together and post them for you. I haven't been watching this forum as regularly lately. If it's been a few days and I haven't posted anything, just send me a PM to remind me. |

To answer this request, I have started a new thread. It seemed like this is a major enough topic to merit a thread and discussion of its own. |

I read through this thread and have a question:
If you go to the store and buy a new blank PSX memory card, can you take that to the arcade, plug it in, and will it save your scores without having to format it or do something on a home version or computer with it??? |
