Okay, help with this adapter (It's a LTP Printer/port): http://www.buynshop.com/productinfo/45/VG-PS-PS2PC4/

How do I install it? The address on the page doesn't work.

Oh, and I have ME.

look back a page and you'll see a post where I made a link to "joy2key"

fiddle with that program and see if that gets you all good to go (it lets you map your pad buttons to the keyboard, so when you hit the up arrow on your pad the computer will recognize it as the up arrow on the keyboard).

Okay, but, that doesn't tell me how to install it, does it?

just try it first. ask after you've installed the program and configured it. there is a walkthrough on how to use the software in the ddr simulator FAQ. it works according to Pantera...that's how he has it set up. if you don't get what I'm saying, IM me through aim and I'll try to help you out.

alright, this tells me I need to provide a link in my FAQ to Joy2Key and an image of the BNS parallel port adapter. expect another update of the front page in coming days, when I can take the time to write down a simple process for setting up joy2key and get an image of that adapter up to my image host (don't want to leech off of an online store's bandwidth....).

MMkay, I followed the setup FAQ, but since I have ME, the ntpad thing doesn't work for me.

does anyone know of a site that has a driver for a parallel port for ME?

EDIT: My original post here was dumb, ignore it riiight.gif

I clicked on that link you posted for the adapter you have (same one I've got, came with my BNS XTreme), and at the bottom it has a link to a walkthrough for setting up your pad "with Direct Pad Pro for (95/98/ME)" I noticed that right before I was about to close it. And immediately after writing this I discover two things: apparently the drivers in the aforementioned walkthrough are for a USB adapter and not a parallel port one as mentioned on that link, and...the site is missing...

disturb.gif

EDIT2: Oops, my first of two things (underlined) is irrelevant, I read it wrong riiight.gif

Which version of NTPad did you download?

EDIT3: While browsing BNS.com looking for a place to complain about my XTreme crappin' out in only a month, I came across this link, which may or may not help:
http://www.hkcomputer.com.hk/ddr/

EDIT4: BLA! Ignore EDIT3, you need a CD for some game I've never heard of to use it.

I downloaded the recent version.

But then I read the readme and realized it was only for XP/2000.

Oh, I got it now.

It says in the Stepmania Adapter page that "For Windows 98 and Windows Me users, the recommended driver is DirectPad Pro 5.0 for Win9x,"

So Whee! Thanks for everything people!

God.

It says I have to unzip all the files in dpad.zip in any folder, which I did, via evaluation version of Winzip. I must've not done it right, because... it won't let me install them (gaming options, add, add other, have disk, browse and it should be in there somewhere) I found the folder I put it in, but it's not there.

I'm not sure exactly if I unzipped all the files within the folder or something... I clicked on the unzipped file, clicked self extracter (because it wouldn't allow be to do anything else) and extracted it.

Okay, now I realize that it's an exe file. I need it to be an inf file... whatever .inf is...

no one here has ever tested any XBox adapters. you'll have to try it for yourself.

No. radioshack adapters have never worked. I've had two of those and neither would work with pads.

Update: I ordered my 2 CFs yesterday, yay! Now I need to find or order that Super Dual Box...I could swear I saw one at a Target or Wal-Mart a month or so ago...I'll look around. I can just order it online if I can't find one.
