Does the DMS3 modchip boot all PS1 Japanese DDR games? I not sure because they say that it boots most anti-mod games.
Thanks _________________

THere si a program calle dhdloader that installs games onto the hard drive. It checks the games before installation, so that it won't install imports.
BUT, there's a PC-side utility called HDL_DUMP that someone invented. it can install games to the HD. You hook your ps2 HD to the pc, run the utilit,y insert your disc, and install. I'm not sure if this is compatible with all games or not (some sites say Party COllection doesn't work) but it sohudl let you install import DDRs for ps2 onto a US hard drive, and once you do tht, the region checks are bypassed. |
where is HDL_dump at? _________________

Okay, first things first:
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
You probably didn't plug the reset button cable into the wrong socket, because I don't think there's an identical socket, or at least there wouldn't be one that wouldn't be already filled with another cable (unless you unplugged EVERYTHING on the board). And I don't even think you unplug the power/reset button assembly with a fliptop installation, anyhow (I'm assuming that's what you did). You could have broken the cable in the middle, or accidentally jerked it out of its socket. |

i'm sure that there have been countless amount of asking this question, so please, try and be conciderate of me, (i'm from New Jersey, I cant help it). I want to buy the PS2 Flip Cover, and the disk that make syou able to play, but i'm sceptical. The price is WAY to reasonable, and I want to know directly if anyone had problems because of hardware or software, not because they installed it wrong. _________________

But it works. _________________

I recently had a dms3 installed on my ps2 and the person who installed it must have installed it incorrectly. Im pretty sure I know exactly what he did wrong when soldering and where he messed up but I don't want to bring it back to him. Anyway I know of a couple places but can someone recommend where I can send my ps2 so they will fix the soldering job, how much they will charge, and btw I am from NY but shipping out of state doesnt matter. Its a v1 ps2.........thanks for all your advice |

I have the same modchip and the same problem. The problem has to do with the anti-mod procedures that PS1 games have. PS1 modchips have been made to handle the anti-mod procedures, but most PS2 chips can at most only handle the majority of games with anti-mod. I don't think the magic 3.1 can at all. What you'll need to do is one of these-
-patch the games you want to use (http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches.shtml)
(not available for all games, unfortunately)
-use a gameshark to put in anti-mod fix codes (www.megagames.com again)
-buy a modded PS1
I bought a modded PS1 off of ebay for $20 + $20 shipping. Came with controllers and games (4 real and like 25 or so bootleg, yuck). As far as I know, it's the only way to play PS1 appends like the Beatmania ones. |
