Ever see someone play DDR, like your mom or dad, and thought it was funny? Well, post up the stories here!
Once, my band class had gone to the skating rink for a little relaxation. We were all lined up at the DDR 5th mix machine and wouldn't ya know it, my band teacher wants to give it a try! So we set him up with a nice easy 1 footer and he passed, of course, but he wanted to try something harder. so we look around for another one footer, but before we could find one, it ran out of time and hit Afronova!! Needless to say it was funny watching that.
So share your stories, and if this topic's been done before, feel free to lock this. _________________

hmm, well lets see. My sister and I found out about DDR when we first went to florida on vacation, but we didn't really wanna play it until we went to vegas and watched pros kick its buttocks. I mean these guys were doing cata's like nothing, was great. So we stepped up there, and just tried to hit the arrows (like many newcomers to the game) and looked horrible. Eventually we got the idea. We are going back to vegas again this year, and since we have bought ddr and want to go play on the real pads in vegas.
Just last night my sister saw a ddr game at the arcade in a movie theater with someone really bad on it. She finally had the chance to show others she doesn't suck now! But alas, the only time she gets the chance, and she cant because she's twisted her ankle..
Ok, so not really that funny but whatever.
PS: Can sum1 please tell me what PA stands for? |

PA stands for Perfect Attack = aiming at doing 100% perfect instead of just passing the song or even FC it (FC = Full Combo ^^) |

As in, AAA?
I can't even do that on Light. O_O
Funniest Moments:
(I haven't been a DDRist all that long, mind you.)
-My dad tried DDR. He didn't do all that great on "Remember You" Light. Just... knowing my dad... and... DDR... = XF
-My brother, having played DDR once before in his life, attempted frigging-Max-300-on-frigging-heavy. He went insane, just hitting whatever random button on the mat he could. I think in the song he moved the mat 2 feet back, and by the time he was done, he had to take his puffers. What a workout! (I told my friends this and they started calling him "puffer-boy.")
-My friend going so long without DDR, apparently his foot was twitching. ^_~
-My friend trying Light mode while playing with his kness XD He says that when it comes to jumps, it really hurts.
-I fell off the arcade while playing Butterfly on Light. Three times. (This was incredibly shameful because normally I play Heavy for most songs nowadays. See how long I've been away? ><)
I had more posted on Jpopmusic but.... I forget... blasted memory span. _________________

This isn't about anybody in my family but me. Yesterday, I was doing Matsuri Japan in standard mode and totally about to get 100 combos when I thought the left arrow was, a little bit more to the left than it really was, I feel and ended up getting like a c. Thank godness nobody saw! except this heavy mode player! Embarassing! _________________

One time my friend was freestyling on the song ecstacy. He tried to do a leap frog over the bar and it caught him right in the nuts. So he flies head first into the machine. (I had a video camera there wouldnt ya know, but i failed to capture that moment) My new nickname for him is captain jacka$$. I have never tried to do a leapfrog over the bar since. _________________

thanks for all the great replies! Wouldn't you know it I have yet another story!
My mom and dad were watching me play DDR, and they wanted to play. My dad went first. First he did Get down tonight on beginner, and he did pretty well for never had played before. He starts joking and says it was too easy (he got a C on it!) So I say "Would you like to play MaxX Unlimited on Heavy?" and he said "Yeah! That sounds more like it!" So I set it up and....
He nearly tore the mat to shreds! he ended up failing the song of course. I can't even do MaxX Unlimited on standard! _________________

Alright true story:
Me and a friend are out one night playing ddr. Like usual we work up a sweat that could fill 5 bathtubs. Were driving home and a cop pulls us over. The cop says that he saw my friend, who was driving, swerving around the road. Now I can understand that, as we were in a very deep conversation at the time which would be a distraction. But then the cop pulls me out of the car and tells me that he smelled alchohaul near the vehical. I know for a fact that neither me nor my friend had a drop of alchohaul that night. After a minute or two the cop says he doesnt smell anything anymore. My friend and I decided that the smell must have been the sweat coming off of us. I was given a breathalizer (obviously came up a 000). So this goes to show kiddies, dont ddr and drive. *wonders if maddrd exists*......... _________________

Well, cartoon-hero, It sounds like you weren't drunk, but I'm wondering about Shintaro... or maybe he is just stupid. I guess I don't take well to animal abuse (or even the mention of it). Ah well. Yeah, the only funny story that I have is one where someone [accidentally?] went in and played doubles and just stayed on one pad during the first half of the song and failed it. He then complained to one of the operaters saying that the pad wasn't working! |

No, I'm actually sitting down right now, making it somewhat hard to trip.

s'ok, Ryoji. Shintaro's just an buttocks.
I have one last story:
Once, I was playin DDR (Kind Lady on Heavy) when my little kitten Steve (yes, that's his name) started pouncing on the mat. I guess there was a bit of string stuck to my foot cause he clawed my foot, but for some reason I kept playing. so I beat Kind Lady on heavy with a B, but the game didn't mention how I had a cat painfully attatched to my heel while playing. _________________

Well, I guess the kitten can thank his lucky stars that u weren't playin' "Stomp to my Beat"
I was at the Casino @ the BW watching a brother and sister argue over which song they were going to do next. They ended up on B4U Challenge mode, and I thought it was hilarious. _________________
