|
|
Kimber Wilson's heart stopped while playing DDR at an arcade near Omaha, Nebraska. Fortunately, arcade personnel, police, and paramedics reacted quickly to save her. The actual cause of the heart stoppage was not DDR, but a genetic problem known as hypertrophy cardiomyopathy. Read more about this at TheOmahaChannel.com.

Wow. Well, that's really a shame that that happened and everything. Good thing she's still alive and all. From the sound of it, she was real lucky, and fortunate that people were able to help her that quickly after what happened.
It's too bad that it just so happened on a DDR machine. You just know that there are people out there at this moment just waiting to jump on a story no like and somehow tie it to DDR, what with all the positive news reviews the game has gotten lately in terms of health benefits.
Yeah, that wonderful media. _________________

In reading the article, it's pretty clear that the unfortunate incident had nothing to do with DDR, and in fact, it was good that it happened when plenty of other people are around.
In watching the story though, with all those pictures of the DDR machine when they talk about the attack... well hmmm i hope people out there just realize it was an unfortunate coincidence, and not the fault of DDR. (Although people should take this opportunity to remind themselves to use caution not to over-exert themselves when playing DDR) _________________

The same thing happend last year in gurnee Illinois on the ride Raging Bull.
A Girl had taffy in her mouth while riding and choked. She died.
NO ONE RODE the ride for half of the season!
The same is going to happen with DDR and Stuipd people. _________________

Wow. Geez. This is a real thorn in didder's side. Luckily, the girl is okay, and the article made it clear that the game wasn't involved in her unfortunate accident.
It's just one of those things we can think about when we complain about something we think is unfair.

That was evil >.< But I'm relieved that the article didn't try to tie DDR directly to the incident to stir people into an anti-DDR frenzy. |

Man that was unnecessary.
This was an unfortunate incident for both Kimber and the DDR community. The arcade personnel deserves major props for reacting as quickly as they did by being able to administer CPR. I'm glad to hear that she has recovered. _________________

I think Syxx was just trying to lighten the mood, but that humor is a little too dark.
It is a sad thing that happened none the less. The last thing I want to see is ignorant people use this as a reason why DDR is not good for you. _________________

It is rather unfortunate for both Kinber and DDR. It sucks that she wont try DDR anymore because of what happened. When I try to watch the video though, a window pops up and nothing appears on it. So I can't see the video I guess. Anyone else have this problem? |

Hopefully this will make Konami rethink its ideas to make a song harder then PSMO, and maybe now the bar wont be as frowned upon. |
