Here's the real deal.
MAX.>MaXx/LoM>Max
1. MAX.(Period) - It's obvious why this is the hardest. Try playing this on Extra Stage...
2. MaXx Unlimited/The Legend of MAX - The reason why these two have debatable heirarchies is because they have two different approaches. MaXx has more stream than LoM. LoM has shorter, more frequent 1/8th-Air connectors at irregular situations than MaxX. In short, LoM has more Step irregularity than MaXx does.
That is why LoM is harder on Extra Stage: If you have a harder time reading reverse, it's harder to rebound missed steps because you can't luck out on Stream patterns. Combine that with the No Recover bar, and you'll have a tough time passing. Chaos takes more advantage over 1.5x Reverse over Stream, don't ya think?
Some players are better at Stream, others at Chaos (Irregularity of Steps). Depending on which you are leniant on most likely determines which song is easier for yourself.
3. MAX 300 - Not too hard to comprehend. To make it simple, Max 300 has little irregularity and beat changes, making it the MAX with the easiest step patterns to anticipate. Since Boss songs have a trend to climb up the stamina-inducing ladder, Max 300 is stuck at the bottom. Extra Stage isn't too much harder, either. Since the patterns are easy to remember, it's easy to play out of thought rather than through sight-reading. A slap in the face to 1.5x Reverse.
Anyone notice that each MAX dominates a particular area of the Groove Radar in comparison to their counterparts? It's more noticable when you play them, rather than looking at the Radar.
Max 300 - Stream
MaXx Unlimited - Freeze
LoM - Chaos/Air
Max.(Period) - Voltage |

Max period isnt really hard except for that speed up at the end. If you play the Max period edit you can probably do it if you have the stamina. If you can do PSM-O you can do Max period. |

I've only tried MAXX UNLIMITED, I've passed it once, and another time I lost at the last arrow. MAXX UNLIMITED to me looks like the easiest of the three, but that's probably because I haven't tried the others. I always thought LOM was harder because it was 666BPM, but I guess it doesn't go that speed immediately, so that makes it easier than MAXX UNLIMITED. As For MAX300, That looks HARD, but not as Bad As MaXX UNLIMITED.MAXX UNLIMITED is a doubled TRIP MACHINE, while MAX300 is only a doubled DYNAMITE RAVE |

#1 hardest: maxx unlimited
#2 hardest: legend of max
#3 hardest: max 300
i can't pass any of these, but i can make it farthest in max 300, followed by legend of max, and on maxx unlimited, i'm lucky if i last 15 seconds.
as for MAX. (period), i consider it a max song as much as maximum overdrive is, but only because max. wasn't on any machine. and the 600bpm part is a simple, yet consistant run if you look at it on the step charts. _________________

1) Max. (never played it on feet, but judging from sm, its hardest)
2) LOM (never beaten it at arcade... i dont think i can move that fast)
3) Max 300 (stamina gets me every time. usual grade-B)
4) MaxX (usualy grade-B like 300, but not nearly as stamina draining)

I know this song ain't in the MAX genre line up but other than MAX 300 I think PARANOiA survivor MAX is the very hardest of them all. I can go through the song till the very exastusting line up part towards the final slow part to the end. Legend of MAX is ok and all but then it just conclude nearly jumps and alot of shifting. survivor MAX has all the toughest crap combined. So yeah PARANOiA survivor MAX is the hardest of them all. |
