|
|
RedOctane is looking for teenagers (ages 14-16) who've lost weight and gotten in shape with the help of Dance Dance Revolution. If you, or someone you know, have improved their health using DDR, then tell us your story (with your parent's permission). The chosen entry will be used in an upcoming national news story and will receive a RedOctane Metal Pad.
To enter please email us your story in 50 words or less, along with a "before" and "after" picture of yourself. Be sure to include your contact information (name, age, and telephone number) in your email.
We need your story ASAP! The deadline for stories is June 18th. If your story is chosen, it will be posted on GetUpMove.com and submitted to a major print publication for inclusion in an upcoming story.
Contact Alice ([email protected]) with the subject line: Attention: DDR Health _________________

that's a pretty narrow age range. what about us old folks who have improved our health by playing ddr? we deserve some recognition also. i personally haven't smoked a cigarette in over a month due to playing ddr. one month out of the four i've been playing is quite an accomplisment for someone who has smoked for 16 years. on average i was at 2 packs a day. am i alone on this one?
oh well, being smoke-free is reward in itself. _________________

What if you have a really good story, but your scanner is broken so you don't have any pictures?! _________________

I'm not even going to try because I'm going to make sure I give someone else a chance to win
(note: by the above I'm not saying I would, In fact I highly doubt I would)
I won the radio show (look at sig) and I now own 2 already. |

So let me get this straight. They only want stories from 14-16 year olds, thereby disqualifying most people who DDR (including myself, who lost 50 pounds in the past year), and the deadline for stories is today?
Lame. |

That's lame... Teens aged 14-16... I'm 20 years old, and I went from over 250lbs to 172lbs playing DDR, a weight loss of over 78 pounds. From pant size 42 to 34. So... My story doesn't mean anything to Red Octane just because I'm 20? Lame... I guess they either think that DDR is just for young teens, or they just want to make people believe that young teens aged 14-16 can lose weight by playing DDR. Oh well... at least not suffering from plumber's buttocks anymore is rewarding enough. That and not having to shop at a plus sized store is good too. |

Geesh, people, don't get so offended. You have no idea what type of marketing they plan on doing with these stories, so don't make judgments on their specific requirements.
Maybe they're planning on doing an ad specifically targetting teenagers and need to focus between those ages. _________________
