It looks awesome. it almost looks like the red octane 2.0, but probably cheaper and better. I need 1 of those |

Me and my dad were gonna make a metal pad using the websites on other thread but he then said if we could just repair the foam of the soft pad which is the problem of it and use the pad's sensors as the sensor of the metal frame which will then be my new metal pad. Does anyone no is that would work _________________

Yeah, it should work just fine, and its much better than splicing a PS/PS2 controller IMHO. Plus the sensors are already laid out in the pattern that you should want it to be so have fun. I'd make a metal pad myself but I ship out for Navy basic in january so I thought a metal pad was pointless. |

If anyone has ordered ddr pads from vortz...please help answer my questions
Are the 2.5 pads like hard insert? because i can't tell the diff between 2.0 and 2.5 [they used the same pic] but they cost diff
Thanks |
2.5 are not "hard" insert like BNS and RO. They are 1 inch but are the soft type. I think the 2.0 has the 0.5 inch insert. The v3.0 has the hard insert, so take note of that. Seperate hard foam cost like $10.00, but really do feel better when playing. |

Would the Redoctane hard insert fit into the 2.5 pads?
the ones here show up as hard insert

..hmm i guess they used the wrong pic [3.0 pads?] |
They would fit in v2.5 I believe as long as its 1inch. Levelsix.com has hard foam for $10 as opposed to $15 at RO or whatever the price, unless its lower... |

I'm not sure if this idea was already stated [too lazy to look @ the other pages in this post], have you tried this idea:
Instead of using plywood on 3rd party pads, how about using Dense Inserts you get with the Ignition Pad? Get 3rd Party Pad, tape it on top of Inserts [with something on top to be able to play with shoes]. Then use some sort of sticker [you get with Ignition pad perhaps] on bottom of Inserts to prevent from moving.
Personally, I've tried that w/o Shoes [just tape + pad + inserts] by playing several songs [like Waka Laka, Max 300 - Heavy]. It actually work [got A on Waka Laka and B on Max300]. Take it into consideration that:
-No shoes was used.
-Nothing on top of Pad [was actually playing on pad]
-Dense Inserts + Pad wasn't taped all the way around [only 4 Corners were taped].
-Put Panel Sized Cardboard as Raise Arrows [like BNS] - also not taped.
-No Sticker Prevent under the Inserts; Pad just moved a little.
-The pad was the cheapo knockoffs [slippage pad].
So! If you fix all the listed above; you could have an actual modified pad. Instead of going to Hardware store to get plywood, all you need is strong tape + get inserts online [$10].
Please leave feedback by PM if you actually tried this. Post fi you disagree this would work [but try it first if needed].

I just received a Vortz 3.0 pad with PS2/Xbox controller inputs. The total price was 20 bucks plus 13 dollars for shipping. It included a super dense 3 piece insert and the construction looks to be very very durable. Since I just got it today I won't be able to project how long it will last, but I imagine it is the best pad you can get for $33.
I'll keep you guys posted on how this pad performs in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully it doesn't break down on me too soon. |
