DDR Ultramix 2 has some new modes as well. There are several "party" modes. One of the modes is a new "Bomb" mode in which a time bomb goes off if the other player is not doing as well. I am not exactly sure how it works, but it seems that if one player misses too many arrows, the bomb will go over to his side, and will have to play better in order to throw the bomb back over to the other player. Another mode which I did not really understand too well is "Attack" mode where the arrows at the to of the screen slowly drop towards the bottom of the screen, until it reaches the bottom and the player loses. I will provide more details about the new modes tomorrow.

As for the other aspects of the game, what was really noticeable was the enhanced dancing animation of some of the characters. Emi, in particular, has a new, more provocative dancing style.

Do the characters at least TRY to dance to the music? What I mean is, on the PS games, the dancers move to the BPM of the song. On UltraMix, they just dance at one speed.

I think it will dance to the beat on some point.

PS - the noteskins STILL aren't fixed. I'd like to tell the difference between 8th and 16th notes, especially on "My Summer Love." There aren't any kooky noteskins like in the first one, but still, I'd like to see Konami fix this before it gets released.

nice...Ultramix 2 with XBL3.0 functions...2 new modes that looks very cool(like the bomb one)...but some stuff need to be added:

1.Custom Soundtracks with Edit Mode
2.Downloadable Content Worldwide
3.Stats for EVERY song ONLINE (not only Light, Standard, Heavy ...offline)
4.A kind of lobby for every game (you return there after each song)

i just don't like the new "style" of the arrows, HP bar, etc....

Konami needs to shake DDR up a bit... Max had freeze arrows, now they need to up the ante. New types of arrows will make it interesting. Most people I know just play game mode, and the battle modes are kinda left out as a little minigame. Adding new gameplay bits and pieces can only add to the game: they shouldn't deter seasoned players too much, and attract newer players to the game. Everybody wins! E4.gif

Could someone explain the deal on Canadian xboxers?

This time around can we get the songpacks? I really want them :S And in UM Canadians couldn't.
