I must say, these video's are very impressive.
Though, flaming isn't.
This topic verges on the line of "My goodlord your 1337" and "OMG you need to stop bragging and get a life". Both sides can be argued, but lets all not try to. This is for discussion of these videos, not insulting and bragging from either side of this little heated conversation.

RedChrono you weren't doing quasar on 1.5x music/rate speed. Music/rate speed != scroll speed
Quasar is harder than Reality and Brace Yourself, especially one handed. |

| haha wow, to the person that said these videos stand on par to IIDX expert videos, thank you. I was laughing for a good 5 minutes. I just didnt find 4 key arrow smashing impressive, no matter how fast. I cant do any better, but i am still not impressed. I wonder if the people on this board is so quick to buttocks kissin, or that in reality anything surprises them. Hm. |

Couldn't do any better? You couldn't even come close to anything on those vidoes. Arrow smashing...yea...thats why his marvelous attack is so good. Considering a marvelous is only a bit easier to hit than a flash great on iidx.
I only played iidx for awhile and almost passed A...yes, its very hard, but its just as hard to get good at stepmania. If beatmania machines and games wern't so hard to get ahold of i'd probably be able to compare the two, but whatever. You obviously don't know much about sm on the keyboard if you don't think those were really good, considering he's been playing with just his index fingers for like 2-3 years.

| Wait, so you havent even played IIDX for that long, and yet, you are telling me i must not play enough stepmania. haha of course i dont play enough stepmania, i am just not interested in playing it. I didnt say they werent worthy of noting, i was saying i was not impressed. As simple as that. I have seen harder poopy being pulled off in IIDX. Also good for him if he has wasted his life 2-3 years playing on his index fingers. I am sure he is very proud of himself. Bottom line is, i wasnt impressed. Live with it. |

Pretty amazing. What shocked me the most wasnt so much as his hands moving that fast, but the fact that he could read the arrows at all. Do u have half of them memorized?! Sheesh.

That's nice. "Harder" is an opinion, I don't care about technique, I care about speed, because with enough practice anyone can learn the technique to do all the hard IIDX songs, but speed is another thing because you have to develop endurance in your bones and muscles and shit, and that takes way much more time and dedication than learning the technique. The timing is a factor too, but as I said if you play enough you can pump your timing up to start AAA'ing songs in a day if you really want to. Now, ryan timing is a whole different story, as that takes worlds more practice, but in general to AAA songs it doesn't take *that* much, as long as you can hit the notes at the correct speed. If you have the technique down, you can. The drummer in the song is one of the fastest in the world (he's not even close to the actual fastest drummer but he's definitely up there) so it takes a lot to do that.
You could say the same thing about IIDX and Piano, about how "I'm just not impressed with 7 keys and a turntable" or whatnot. Reach (yeah the guy in this topic) plays piano, and he can play Revolutionary Etude on it, so you could apply the same logic to say Kakumei another or Kakumei doubles.

And wasting time playing IIDX or Pop'n or whatever other bemani is different?
I play stepmania, at the absolute maximum, 3 hours a week. I have been doing so for maybe the past 2 years. At MAXIMUM that's about 312 hours, total, which compared to the amount of time spent by people playing MMORPG's who have over 2000 hours on one character, is not much at all.
I heard from CStarFlare that ryan plays about 3 hours A DAY. He's been playing for about 2 years as well, so if you total that up it's 2190 hours (though I'm assuming he's played a whole lot less than that, you get my point)
You have NO right to be riding the IIDX cock and at the same time tell me that I "wasted 2 years of my life" on a hobby. |
