The oldest person I've seen play was probalby about 30 (well at least the olderst guy I've seen play) I've seen a mother play with her daughter (the mom was actually better) and I'm not really sure how old she was. |

lol No, they don't always do that. . . |

Well, I'm only 13. Oldest I have seen on the machines is 24, and that guy got in the paper for his skill. Triangle natives probably know who I am talking about, I forgot his name.
Anyway...as for an age limit: If they can't at the very LEAST AA a beginner song, they get one song. After that one, they get sent to the nearest EB to buy a game and a pad.
Exception: Someone GOOD is playing with them. Then they get three songs.
Just my opinion. I wouldn't go for any sort of limit on DDR, though. |

How noble of you. How about they play as long as their quarters run out, or they get bored? That sounds more fair.

A contradiction? |

1- And that 'obviously' statement had any relevance to..anything?
2- It's a suggestion, man. The arcade machine.
3- What about the people in line, then?
4- No. I was suggesting what I see as the best age limit, IF an age limit was to be put on. |

As far as I know, everyone's quarters are worth 25 cents, regardless of how well they can play.
Anyway, the point of this thread originally was "are you ever too old", not "let's bash kids and noobs" |

Score between these three...
AirSpiritX-0
blix-0
Slowpoke-1
AirSpirit, IF there was an age limit then that would go againat the first amendment of freedom of speech and what not so there's no way of something so trivial would happen...----But, but, but! IF that somehow it was allowed and there was an Age limit... Then such suggestions should go without saying...
(Kids that young -let's say 13 and/or under 40+- really wouldn't have much fun playing if they're restricted, they might not really want to start out to be a really good player just to mess around and have fun and plus not have the cash -unless the parent is willing to- buy the game and the pad, and possibly a new system if they don't have one.)
Blix, IF someone says somethigng that's NOT to your liking and you ABSOLUTEly have to hit them on then please don't... Say what you want but don't start anything that could just look like spam to us with complaints and what not... No picking on newbs and youngins.
Slowpoke, you are right in you're saying because what they are doing is wrong. 1 POINT.
(If this has offended anyone I must apologize. )
P.S. I really don't think anyone should eb restricted from playing ANY gaem because of age... Maybe maturity that's obviously less than others.. (Such as others making fun in a serious tone and try to mock you when while they look like the idoits themsef)

I hope you're not a stomper
I was wondering, since you've been playing for 2 years, do people STILL look at you funny? I figured by now you'd be a regular wherever it is that you play, and people would be used to it.
(Nice job on the catas, btw) |

I know someone who can get senior citizen's discounts who DDRs. And she does fairly well on Standard, too. :-D
If you have fun, do it. No sense in not, unless you're going to end up hurting yourself. _________________

Thanks! Actually I dont play so often in public, as I have it at home, and I dont have to pay per game there. Ill play once a week or so at a movie theatre by my house, but usually I hit early matinee movies so there's noone there, and the theater's population is transient. I live in Las Vegas and most of the machines are in casinos, and it's annoying as sin to play there because it's so loud that I can bearly hear the backbeat.
I don't want to be a stomper but the machine there is kept in poor enough repair that some days I have to land pretty solid to get arrows to score :/ I prefer to play lightly though, lots of near slides and such.
I use a pair of modded MyMy Box metal pads at home, they've lasted like chanps. Ocassionally, like twice in 2 years the control board has toasted and ive had to solder a new one on but other than that it's been golden. |

Age doesn't matter. A man could be 80 years old and still be in top shape. So as long as you're fit, age doesn't matter. There is, however, a health limit to DDR. |
