Did you go through the first page? I list the cheapest, easiest way there. _________________

Larrikin says, re: booting PS1 games on PS2:

Um, actually, the first page just says "use whatever CD based swap disc you have", which is obviously not the case. It lists the PS-X-Change, which is, to the best of my knowledge, only for use on PS1s, not on PS2s. I bought a Breaker Pro because people here said it worked, and haven't had any luck. (Breaker Pros do not allow code entry.) I've gotten the impression that a garden-variety GameShark isn't what I need, either.
Updating the first page with a note as to what sort of CD swap disc will work to play PS1 DDR games on a fliptopped PS2 would really be appreciated. (I'm probably just going to buy a JPS1, since then I won't spend another 40 dollars on another swap disc that doesn't work.) [/quote] |

Well, you're wrong.
If you have a way to swap the discs without pressing the eject button, you can use a PS-X-Change, a GameShark, an AR, or a Breaker Pro. The only problem is that the Breaker Pro doesn't have anti-mod codes for some games (it thinks that it has it for all games and thus does not allow code entry) |

I didn't say my impressions were necessarily correct. I just said that none of this is detailed on the first page, which just says "any CD swap disc", which would imply that the CD swap magic is OK, which it isn't. I was mostly asking Larrikin if he could include these additional details on the first page, for the benefit of the handful of people who actually check it before asking.
I'm trying to help, here. I'm not pissed at Larrikin or anyone else here because my BP doesn't work -- my guess is that, as they're rather fly-by-night, that there's different versions, and the fact that mine doesn't work is evidence of this, since some poster in this thread got 4th mix to work with a BP. I'm just helping point out an inconsistency in the first-page FAQ that, if fixed, might decrease the number of questions people keep asking, and it means we can point to the first page and tell people to look there with confidence that the question they have is actually answered. |

Thumbs up to anitomy!
I own a "mega memory manager" for the ps2, (its for my datel mem card) At one point it stops the CD from spinning, I tried swapping it out with ddr 5th mix and it didn't work. Oh well
I think I'll just get a breaker pro NTSC disk. As long as it boots up my 5th mix, I'm good! _________________

The 5000x modles can have the NEW Dms3 or, a flip top with some of the edges shaved down (not the new pop flip top.). _________________

When my new ps2 comes in, i'll take the fliptop from my old ps2 and put it on the new one. Swap Magic is compatible with the new ps2's right? I have the Version 2.0 SM. |

How long does it take for PS2Cover.com to process an order? I ordered mine two weeks ago, but it hasn't been shipped yet. |

I want to buy a DMS3 but the guy who does chip installations by me says that the Messiah Pro is better. I thought the DMS3 looked pretty good but he said it only has a 50-70% chance of working. Does this guy know what hes talking about or not? Should I get a DMS3 or Messiah Pro? |

I think he doesnt know what he's talking about. The only chip I see that competes with the DMS3 is the new Matrix Infiinity chip.
Matrix chip can boot directly with no buttons held down.
DMS3 chip works with non sony hard drives and has a larger support base.
I have no clue about emulator support for the Matrix but I know the DMS3 supports roms on a hard drive.
Other than that theyre pretty much the same. _________________
