i don't know where to get Vans shoes. any shoe store would work i think. they aren't specifically for skateboarding but a lot of skateboarders use 'em because of their good balance (flat soles).

I've got a question about the cyphergames pads. can anyone who has em tell me if there's squeaked when they first got it? or does it only squeak on carpets? and how can you stop the squeaking?

Im sorry if I missed this being discussed but I'm interested in the red octane medal pad but I'm not sure if its worth buying. I haven't seen any reviews for it. I can't afford the Cobalt Flux so Iwonder if this is good enough. Whoever has this pad send a private message or send a reply immediately.

There's a metal pad being sold on ebay for $99. I know NOTHING about the pads, I don't even own DDR (yet), but I wanna buy something that'll last instead of going through tons of the cheapo $20 mats.

What brand is this metal pad, and do you guys think it would be a good buy? (Sturdy pad that'll last long and is good to play with)

Thanks for the replies

does anyone know if the red octane metal pad and the bns metal pad still use the foil contacts or do they have the metal on copper contacts?
And if they have the foil contacts and i use the sheet metal mod and mess up the pads can i return it or does that void the warranty?

anyone that has done this mod how long has ur pad lasted for?!

thanks E1.gif

Think about it for a second. YES. Why? Because you're doing something that the pad dealer did NOT authorizew. If you do it and you screw up, you're on y7our own

i wouldn't get this pad if i were u. its not worth the price. my reasons:
1. its last years model (if this matters at all they don't change much)
2. the arrows are hard acrylic (crack easily)

i got a pad from judysdeals on ebay. they're pretty good, but can sometimes come as a DOA (dead on arrival) but the vendor has warranties (this of course is null and void if u mod the pad)

this is a PICTURE of a BNS pad. i'm not sure if discout-auction is still selling the BNS pads. they might be clones so beware. as i said before i would go with judysdeals's pads off ebay. their 100 dollars and i can vouch that they are pretty good pads. i don't know if its just mine however, but mine squeeks. it isn't bad for the pad....jus extremely annoying

i have no idea what that pad is worth american dollar-wise, so i cannot tell u if its worth it. i can tell u however, that it is a fairly reliable pad. won't break down on you that easily and the company does have a warranty. i would go with redoctane if u want to get a very reliable pad. its around 200 dollars though.... riiight.gif

Well, if yours came with like stuff covering the pads, like plastic bags and stuff, and you ripped them off, they might have been caught in the corner crackets, plastic rubbing = squeak.

As of April 2004, the pads that discount-auction is selling are these. Unfortunately the arrows are acrylic and not polycarbon as the pads advertised. The only good thing about these pads are the 4 screw architecture. Maintainance is so much easier.

I'm wondering, are the judydeal metal pads have wood inside? or is it metal?

Cobalt Flux has been claiming for a long time that their pads could withstand being run over with an SUV and still work flawlessly.

Somebody over at the CF forums finally put it to the test.

The video of that test is available here. (26MB DivX)
