Humm, I often point out if people use the bar or mods, and it's not because they beat me. It's just a different style, and you can't compare both of them. _________________

well, those aren't exactly the easiest heavy songs, kuriin. _________________

Too be honest, I get angry at people who use speed modifiers; this is when they can't even clear the song WITHOUT it. I mean, learn how to PLAY the song first without a modifier, then be my guest and put it on.
An example: There was this guy playing on Heavy mode a few days ago at the arcade, and he was using a modifier. So I made him play Max 300 and Unlimited and he failed. He even did terrible on Sakura and Matsuri Japan.

This isn't a speed mod bashing thread. the mods wouldn't be there if they weren't to be used. I don't know why people think it's so awful, the perfect window is the same, the steps are the same, the arrows just go a little faster. the point is to play at the top of your game and have fun. You have no right to judge how people play. besides, not everyone who plays on heavy can pass 10 footers, thats just kind of dumb. _________________

Oh, but didn't you know? Only thoes that have something which falls in between their legs are "allowed" to be good at DDR, are only allowed to play heavy songs, and Oh my God, are allowed to breakdance.
Oh...some boys piss me off so much... boys are all like, "The only girls who play DDR are young, ugly, stupid, and play light, blah, blah , blah" They're just super angry that a (heaven forbid) GIRL can do something that they can't. It's an egotistical boy thing, they don't want a woman to show them up at anything, especially something like a video game, trust me. _________________

If it was a real question it would have made more sense to ask if it's alright to breakdance not if it's alright for "a DDR girl to breakdance".
BTW, hot girls play ddr too. And some are good at it (Saenoda (sp?)) so quit stereotyping. |

Dear, he was saying what he's heard other guys say and hwo mad it makes him and all that. Don't yell at him for other people stereotyping.
I could be she's trying to show off, or she could just think her sex has something to do with it. Either way the point of a thread is to answer the question and try to help out the maker of the thread, not to speculate on whether or not the thread is with good intentions. _________________

whether or not she just wanted to show up, it brings up a good point. Is DDR a Boy's Game? When I see girls play, they either play Light, or Heavy. It's mostly Light, so the stereotype might not be too off, but I am impressed to see anybody play DDR well, Male or Female. So, back to the question, is DDR for boys? |

That's exactly the discussion in another thread in this forum, so that's not the point of this topic. _________________

Hey, a bit off topic, but does anyone know where I can get a video of someone breakdancing on a DDR machine? I've never seen it _________________

If you can breakdance on DDR and make it look GOOD, then more power to you.
The worst example I've seen was Astyanax's "Get Up N Move" routine for the very first Mid-Atlantic tournament, when they had to remove the bars JUST for his routine. What did I see? Typical breakdance stuff to no arrows at all, crappy "stepping" fillers, a botched backflip, and a pretty lame finale(LOOK MA I CAN DO A HALF-ASSED HANDSTAND!!).
I'll have to say that PiU freestyle videos from Korea have impressed me more. _________________
