Wow, am I the only guy who thought this whole thing... kind of sucked? Granted, I'm not one for April Fools Day Jokes in the first place, but this one left a bad taste in my mouth.
First off, I was completely out of the loop on this whole "Mod Uprising" thing. I never touched the DDR Gods thread or whatever it was, and I didn't pay attention to the headlines since it wasn't really related to Dance Dance Revolution (I know some of you mods might find this shocking, but I don't lay awake at night, praying to God that Spike finds his lost puppy or whatever the current drama is on the boards. If need drama, I go to the student center and hear about the latest drug bust on campus). I know, crazy right? Going to a DDR website to read stuff about...DDR?
This, combined with the DDR Extreme 2 "hoax", (people were WAY too excited by this, IMO. How can you people be tired of two hundred and forty or whatever songs? For crying out loud, you people keep this up, DDR is going go the way of Capcom's VS series.) and I about had it with DDR Freak and Benamistyle for that matter.
And so I get back from a mind numbing 6 hour car ride back to my college, the only thing keeping me sane is that I'll be able to get to my dorm, go on DDR Freak, and just relax on the forums. What's this headline? Oh great, more drama, screw this, its chit-chat time. Nope, guess I arrived just a little too late to see people being jackasses.
So no, I didn't get the "joke", because for me, there wasn't one to be gotten. So, please, for a sourpuss like me, can we keep it to "United States Army To Begin Using Dance Dance Revolution as part of physical exam or something like that next time around?
Please?

edit: I THOUGHT I NUKED THE RANDOM CHAT AND CHIT-CHAT FORUMS. everything was running so much faster after i painstakingly deleted all the threads in there. =\ |
i painstakingly deleated 8 pages of new england inorder to nuke enough of JAs posts to get to first place i was within a handfull of posts before the vboards screwed up

Oh yes everyone abused the mod powers. See what happens when you give people power? It was werid that we didn't get all the buttons of a Maniac member. So I knew it was a joke at that point.

Pollgara's actually a guy, he usually posts under the username "Rufus", but he probably put that girl in his signature and changed his username just to be funny.
Anyway, I loved the whole April Fool's thing. It was a nice buildup, (though Remy was my favorite moderator.... but it's his choice) and making everyone Maniac Members was a surprise and a good ending. Though if we do it again next year, maybe the "delete" button could be left off? Seems like it would have been funnier to look around the forums and all the crazy threads within them.
And one of the best quotes from yesterday was from the IIDX Barton guy (I don't remember his exact username), when he had no foot ranking. He said "I am one of the footless! Why don't I have a foot?"  |

ha, nice prank, i logged on yesterday early in the morning and was just like...wtf? then this kid IMed me saying "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO DDRFREAK?! ITS TOTAL CHAOS!" i just kinda laughed...
what was the whole bemafia though? i was working yesterday so i wasnt on much at all, so i have no clue what you guys are talking about.

very good!
the only bad thing was we got the delete button. (that got abused WAY to much, b/c there was nothing to do with the mod powers)
I tried to get a group to defeat the bemafia, the Yoshi Clan (ask around, a few people joined it) we would have caused mass histeria within the bemafia, if there were posts to cause histeria in.
All in all, a very well played joke. Loved it.

Actually I copied Nanashi's banner he gave me the idea. Secondly Pollgara is a name I use on Gunbound for my female character. Everyone calls me Poll so I guess I chagned it for that. P.S it is pretty funny finding out how many guys have PM'ed me for no reason.

Actually, if you kept logs of mod actions from yesterday or something, that would be great. I'd love to find out how many total posts I edited or topics I moved.
And I wish I would've saved a screen shot of the poll I made in the Frozen Foods Forum... Phrekwenci vs. CaffyMajin. The options were Phrekwenci, CaffyMajin, "i got 5 bucks on jsb", and Tsugaru Apple Mix. Tsugaru Apple Mix was winning by a lot when I last checked it. |

Not being able to communicate the entire day was not fun. Bemafia was the best thing, I applaud them. The NWO things went too far at points though. Also, the thing I couldn't see about NWO possibly being real was IG. She seems far too nice and good. The Forum Gods/Goddesses was very funny. I liked seeing JA as the source of a lot of hate. =D
Overall, it got annoying many times, but otherwise was... interesting?
BTW, JA, if you read this, when someone asks you, you don't say that you don't know what's going on. You're supposed to make something up. |
