What do you think a 10 footer needs to be a 10 footer? Here's mine...
1-Speed: All 10s have that high speed, except bag, that force you to either memorize the steps or have good reflexes. LoM tends to be most problematic here.
2-Seriously cool bgs: All 10s, except bag again, have cool bgs. Especially MAX., the "Why do you need?..." haunts me...
3-Demon Runs:Legend of Max and Paranioa Respect use these a lot. bag has none.
4-Obnoxious use of freeze arrows:Most 10s, except... say it... *croud rumbles "bag..."* thank you... have either to little (MAX 300) or too many and stratigically placed (Paranioa Respect) freeze arrows.
5-Cool Music:All 10s, except bag (you saw it coming), have cool music, techno and instrumental and weird. bag is... well... a bagpipe...
And bag's Revenge! (ha, get it, revenge...):bag has the COOLEST bg movies! Spiked ballz of Death got nothin on the camel ridin pimps with the pipes! Ok, maybe not pimps... Bagpipes are chick repellant, lol...
Input, please! _________________

You best shut the hell up about bagpipes. As for memorizing steps or having good reflexes... pardon? Bag isn't that hard to read/react to, it's just hard to get the timing right for perfects because people aren't use to listening to bagpipes. Nothing about the song is at all familiar for most people. My requirements would be:
1. Complex step patterns. (Max 300 is rough on your stamina, but has really simple steps, and Sakura just has easy steps)
2. Tiring (Sakura and bag don't exactly hit you like the Maxes or Paranoia's)
3. Be from Naoki (All the current ones are.)

my guess is that it has alot to do with How many steps that are in the song vs. the speed of the song.
you know for sure on alota the high end 10 footers that both of those are high _________________

As someone that as plenty of files for SM I believe that just about any song can be a ten. But I believe that 10s have to be musically complex.
Why does the word speed and 10 have to go into the sentence?
I have "Times New Scar: OC remix and that song is a constant bpm changing headache that is only 43 bpm. Does this song not have a right to be a ten? (for your info I changed this rating to an 11)
Just because a song is fast doesn't mean that it should be a ten. But I certainly agree with tens being tiring. Given the nature of 10+ footers they would have to be tiring.
But my dream ten footers would come in the form of beethoven, bach, parcabel. I want music that constantly change bpm and lack consistancy. I also, want to feel the reticence of an enjoyable piano solo. Sure, these songs would be hard but can't we expand our minds as to what hard songs are?

Either musically complex enough to where it can be hard to follow (excluding those who are quite knowledgeable with music). For instance, Bag follow bagpipe playing near exact, and, just how many people (I speak of majority) truly understand the instrument? And there is Sakura, now, that one is perhaps one of the easier cata+ songs, however, with the time changes I can see it as being very complex for most people (Im a musician so...) Otherwise, perhaps very stamina draining to where, sure you may be able to follow early on, however, how about near the end? Or the middle even?
Overall, as long as it pushes you far in some way, some how. _________________

10 feet songs are songs that are designed for the elite in DDR people, that's what I've always thought, they're not designed for the noobs that play Butterfly a billion times.
I've never finished Bag on 1x =( _________________

Bag isn't a real 10 footer. It's only a 10 footer until you put on speed mods. _________________

10 footer is any song that has a foot rating of 10 _________________

All a ten footer needs: See the difficulty rating? It needs ten feet on there. Then it's a ten footer. Because Konami said so. _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Well put...you= winner...people put too much emphasis on foot ratings...see stuff like witch doctor, harder than 1/2 the catas out there, yet rated as an 8, or sakura and bag which aren't at the 10 foot level of the others, yet still rated as a 10, but what konami says goes...FEAR KONAMI!!! _________________
