The arcade I went to upgraded all 3 of their popn 10 machines to popn 11 now, hehe. |
Well, seeing as 99% of posters here are from the USA, and also seeing that there are NO Pop'n Music machines above Pop'n 9 in the US, I don't see why there should be any surprise about no mention of 11, since 99% of us here will never get the chance to play on it _________________

I will, but not until the summer... My mom wants to go to Asia, which sucks for me since I want to take summer school, but at least I'll get to try out some new songs. Gotta take the bad with the good . _________________

Does anyone have a romanization for Des-Row's song that appeared in PNM9, genred as Hip Rock 2? Trying to find a name it'd most likely be indexed as by English people.
(Forgive me if this has been asked already; if you said you were up to sifting through 35 pages of thread to look for one simple question, I'd call you a liar.) _________________

It's Dan Dan Dou; if you're looking for romanized lyrics, I'd recommend the "Pop'n Lyrics" thread at Bemanistyle. _________________

Sorry Popn Music CDs use a special audio format so there are no mp3s in existance. You can however buy the cd from www.cdjapan.co.jp _________________

Out of 10 how would you guys rate
PopN 8
PopN 9
I bought PopN 9 but I don't have 8 and tons of people said I should have gotten 8. I started on DDR/DM/GF so I would be more used to 777, Daikenkai, Candy <3, etc. But I heard the interface was better on 9 and GBZ was better unlock system.
Also, where is "Party Mode" in PopN 9? _________________

Eh. You'll get a lot of opinions back and forth, but overall I liked 8 a whole lot more than 9. They're both 10/10 though. _________________

PNM 8: 11/10
PNM 9: 10/10
Something like that. ;-) That Gambler Z stuff is a little tedious, and I'm a Bemani transplant whore, so I have a very slight preference for 8. Oh, and Love Sugar kicks ass, too.

You can't go wrong with either of them. They're both the best CS versions Konami has released thus far.
Personally, I prefer 9 over 8, but you'll find most people to prefer 8 over 9. _________________

Three questions:
1) I have been able to decipher from the official webpage that Love Love Sugar, White Lovers, and Candy (heart) are in Pop'n Music 8, as well as stuff like Miracle Moon, 321 Stars, Jet World, and a few others. This means I'm probably going to start with 8, as I need some kind of reference to DDR to get me started. What I'd like now is 9's songlist, since play-asia doesn't seem to have one for it.
2) How, exactly, does one play Pop'n Music? Given the size of the ASC (I'm looking at Ransai) I'm guessing the emphasis is on 'hands' rather than 'fingers'. My girlfriend recently started playing IIDX and at first she just used the first two fingers on her hand to hit every key, moving back and forth. It seems that this would be the way to play Pop'n, given the gigantic buttons and the huge spaces between them. The tiny Pop'n controller seems like it would be played more like IIDX, focusing more on one's fingers and not requiring much arm movement, while the big one requires flailing about in a crazed frenzy.
3) I found a song on Bemanistyle called Candy (Little A Live Style) which is Candy (star) with Candy (heart)'s lyrics put in. It hails from a Pop'n V-rare. I don't suppose this song exists on any of the actual games? Or is it like Midnite Blaze (System SF mix)?
Thanks.

1) http://www.konamistudio.com/pm9/main_music.html
Not much DDR stuff, but there's some things that will feel a bit familiar. Mainly, a rock guitar mix of Absolute and a long version of Daikenkai.
2) Quote: | The tiny Pop'n controller seems like it would be played more like IIDX, focusing more on one's fingers and not requiring much arm movement, while the big one requires flailing about in a crazed frenzy. |
Bingo. I should mention that flailing is a lot more fun than using your fingers.
3) It's like Midnight Blaze (SyS SF Mix); it's not on any of the games. It's like that with most of the V Rares; mostly remixes and extended versions instead of songs from the games. |
