I think it is too but because there is no offical 8th mix sticker on on it people say other wise.

According to Konami, "Extreme" is "Extreme" and nothing else. But some people call it "8th Mix" anyway. Personally I think it sounds stupid, and I thought "7th Mix" as opposed to "MAX2" sounded stupid also, but that's my opinion.
As far as this Extreme 2 goes, we'll see. It'd be nice, certainly.
The DDR series has been on hiatus (as promised) for a while now and I figured if/when it did come back, it would be on new hardware (like IIDX moved to new hardware with 9th Style). If this is true, it will almost definitely take longer for arcades in the USA to get it, because they'll probably have to somehow import legitimate copies. So whether it's real or not, we may not see it for a while. Don't go crazy just yet.

Despite if it a hoax, I still would love to see that purple color used on an upcoming ddr mix. The whole ExII idea suits nicely though, considering they were "starting over", nice ideas all around, now it would be a hard pill to swallow if it isn't true =(

I think it's real, since now they have an arcade machine to put all those new KO's and Bemani transplants from the MAX2 and Extreme home versions, and perhaps finally The Shining Polaris and Jam & Marmalade.
