Can there be some kind of way to tell which moderators/admins are on at the time. There was a pointless thread in RC i was going to report but had no idea which moderator I should goto because I had no clue which ones were on. _________________

I've had a similar problem in the past about harassment, buy had no idea who was on because of the "Who's Online" part of the board being removed. _________________

It's still there, just toned down and hidden.

I use it all the time.
What'd be nice is if there was an "on call" moderator dropbox so that we could report posts/threads to whomever is on duty, or it goes to a queue that can be filled by the next Global Mod that logs on. _________________

Yeah, that would be something that would be pretty cool, maybe here in Site Feedback? _________________

Then there's always the problem of spamming that drop box with false reports. _________________

Well I would assume such a drop box wouldn't be anonymous... And if someone were spamming it, you could just warn them, or ban them, whichever is necessary. |

Nanashi has a good idea there, making it anonymous I mean. We could have one big PM Inbox that all us mods could access to see who's got a problem, with what, and where. It would make the job of trying to be everywhere at once a little easier.
As for that who's online thing.. I'm not showing up on it ;-; _________________

yeah, I think having that dropbox could help with the moderation itself... it´d be easier than going blindly through the forums like we actually do _________________

Well other forums just a flag system, like when they think a thread is deemed unsuitable. Often people abuse it. but as someone suggested you can just punish those that press the fire alarm button when there is no fire. _________________

I think it would be a good idea to have a flag system to drop threads into a queue for mods to look at. Actually implementing depends on how much spare time any of the staff has. _________________

The warning points system has its own PM box, atleast it seems like that....what if we PMed that? Would it send it out to all the Moderators? Maybe theres a way to make it so that it sends it to the most available one online.... _________________

S'far as I know, if you PM the warn bot no one will ever see it because only a script uses that forum account. We don't actually log in to that account to administer warnings...we use a page separate from the forums. _________________

A quick and easy temporary fix would be to create an account and give the password out to all the moderators. Then anyone who has a problem could just PM the one account and any moderator who checks it could see the PM. You could also see who it came from just in case they decide to spam or give threads that don't need to be dealt with.
Couple problems with it though:
1) PM limit in the box. But that could probably be changed relatively easily.
2) I do believe that if I'm logged in to the account to check it, and Xhad logs in, I'm booted off. I mean, it would make sense. But maybe not though. If not then no problem. If yes then it could be slightly annoying for us because we'd take turns unknowingly kicking each other off just to see what PMs there are.
Still, it could work as a temporary fix until we had time/manpower to implement something else. _________________

Ton and I shared my account on BemaniStyle last week, and we were both logged in at the same time. Spike wrote: | If yes then it could be slightly annoying for us because we'd take turns unknowingly kicking each other off just to see what PMs there are. | I think the big thing is multiple mods unknowingly tackling the same issue at the same time.
So, if a global mod logs in, check if the Moderator account is in use. If not, log in and check it.
And I guess the e-mail for the Moderator account would need to be an alias which forwards the message to all the global mods. Hel-lo, spam. _________________

I don't think that multiple mods tackling an issue would happen that much. When one person reads a PM, it's marked as read. So the next person that comes in would see that that one is either being taken care of, or already has been or whatever. If an issue is dealt with the PM is deleted. If someone looks at a PM and sees that they can't handle it, they could send the same PM to the account again with "Attn: Admin" in the headline so an admin can look at it and deal with it. _________________
