|
|
Hi there fellas. I just baught a Red Octane metal pad with a smartjoy PS2/USB adapter...And for some reason it will not work. I plugged in a playstation controller and it worked fine, perfect functionability. But the metal pad doesnt seem to want to light up, or do anything for that matter. It's as if its not even plugged in at all, which it is. I have stepmania installed and have the mat drivers installed so that my computer recognized the mat...supposidly...and the smartjoy is all installed too. I have no clue what could be wrong with it, but its not seeming to work at all, and im having DDR withdrawls...
Any suggestions? |

Im still having troubles with my metal mat and USB adapter. Its almost as if the pad doesnt support the adapter...I dont know how to test my mat to even know if it works, but shipping it back for a new one would be 40 dollars. Im lost... |

geez, you could wait more than 4 1/2 hours to bump the topic...
since the pad has lights, it probably draws too much power to work with the adapter. |

Ya know, I would normally, but I really want to use the mat that I so willingly spent 250ish bucks to get. I think your right about the adapter thing, I dont know if I should just get the USB adapter that plugs directly into the mat instead of the PS2/Xbox controller port adapter, But who knows.... |

buy it. it can handle the power the pad draws, since it's made to work with it. |

Just a quick question and Ill be on my way. It makes some sense now, seeing as how the ps2 adapter doesnt look powerful enough to power up the whole mat, so I was wondering if this would be a better solution, or if its the only solution.

It hooks up to the mat instead of the PS2/Xbox control box. Im just making sure that this is what I need. Thanks again for the help. |

You don't use USB adapters with Console Games. If you have any more issues, take it to Simulators. _________________
