Lyrics That Kill Songs

Well this is kind of a rant but I started off playing Konamix and i loved the ending song after beating 5 songs.

Surprise Surprise the ending song is After The Game Of Love. Well i played that one alot.

Later on i played some Extreme at my mall. Lo and Behold they have the song. I listened to the sample and was surprised to hear singing. "Ok ill give it a try" I say.

After hearing ALL of the song i was shocked when the song got utterly mutilated by the terrible sounding lyrics.

Anyway, if anyone has had any similar problems then jump in and post If not, feel free to lock Remy, Asparagus, etc

Well that end my rambling. Heheh i needed to get that bit of info off my chest.

I totally agree with you. The music was perfect and enjoyable, but the lyrics ruined the song completely. The reason that the lyrics ruined the song for me is easy: they were talking about sex. That does not go over well with me. And when I say that, I mean it is obvious, not like some songs which I can forgive for making vague references to sex. However, that song just took that too far. The above also ruined most of E-rotic's songs for me.

Now, I expect people to flame me and call me a prude.

... and this is why Konami stripped out the lyrics for After The Game of Love in Konamix.

Also, what's up with the lyrics on Un Deux Trois? That song is fine and enjoyable until the whole "Give me ecstacy!" thing. What's up with that? Those lyrics killed that song for sure.

Seriously. Oh, The Earth Light was another one. The moans were completely unneccesary. Oh, PYFIM's rap section is bad as well. Whistle Song too. I also don't like ny E-Rotic songs except for Kiss ME because of this.

I can tolerate Candy* but when I hear Candy <3 the lyrics just mutilate the song for me. I guess I was so used to the Candy* version, that when I heard lyrics for it, it startled me and I just don't like them at all.

And around summer time I liked Daikenkai, until I read the english translation for it, and then it was plain stupid.

I used to NOT like Irresistablement, My Sweet Darlin', and If You Were Here, until I DID read the lyrics. They have good meaning, in my opinion. (Though I always liked the beat to If You Were Here.)

And all that moaning in Sexy Planet out of nowhere is totally not necessary.

I completely did the exact same thing you did. I bought Konamix, played After the Game for a month or two, went to the mall and played After the Game of Love and thought, "Wow, that song sucks more than I thought." The lip on the After The Game banner always looked hairy to me, too. Gross.

After the Game of Love has the best damn lyrics of any DDR song out there.

Shame you newer kids couldn't appreciate the song back when it was on 3rd mix. You got stuck with the lame lyric-less version on Konamix =P

When i first heard the chorus in the song select screen (Teh little song sample) I liekd it. But when i heard the song in full i hated it. Honestly i think that song sounds much better lyric-less

Sometimes people sing about sex. Get over it. The worst song in DDR is less vulgar than a lot of the stuff you have no problem listening to on MTV.

Which is why I never watch/listen to MTV

The moaning in Insertion is ignorable, so I ignore it for the most part, and I can stand the rest of the song.

Sexy Planet is basically moaning set to music. At least there were cool steps to go with them in Momo mix (from nonstop megamix).

The *male* moaning in 5.1.1. really ruined that song.

The lyrics in AtGoL rule. They're completely hilarious. I also thing Candy <3 is way better than Candy *. The only couple that I think would be cool with no lyrics...
