What affects you?

Another thing that affects me, is the music. Either if it's too loud, I'm gonna go deaf. And if it's too soft, I can't even hear it... The people who work at the arcades, just turned down the music, so like, I can't even hear a damn thing thanks to all the other machines that are around.

Um, townies mostly. They're getting better lately but they still talk way too damn much and too loudly (not a good combination with a busted-ass Extreme with only one very quiet speaker). Still, so all the other players, myself included, so i suppose we can forgive them that

One time I nearly managed to pass Exotic Ethnic on Extra Stage until some dumb bint decided to shove in five 10p coins in the middle of it. Clue for you dear: IT'S SCROLLING IN REVERSE SO I NEED THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN TO BE CLEAR

Actually I did kinda ok through the impromptu Hidden Mode, but my life was such that the next NC would kill me. Ran up a 200ish combo almost to the end and failed. Pressure mode sucks but so do dumb teenagers...

Damn, i must have it easy...

no kids that are annoying. i don't mind shadowers. i ignore people who goof off while i'm playing. i'm sometimes talked to, or poked (for some reason) while i'm playing. O_o eh, no big deal, the girls just want a piece of this sexiness.

Oh! i do know what does affect me though, and i'm surprised no one has said this:

The pads affect my game DRAMATICALLY. If they suck, I suck...if they're good, i'm good. Simple as that. I hate poorly maintained pads.

Shadowers....Spectators...Children...and when the game starts booing at you when you don't do so well..and other people that are watching can hear it.

What affects me is sometimes the pad is slippery because of sweat and dirt dust thats on the panels from someones shoe that makes you slide around another thing is children sometimes when they what to run on the pad and try to play, people when your trying to show off and fail. DDR 4 EVER

I really hate it when people stand around me and comment on what I chose. Things like "oh thats so easy" and things like that. How annoying, stfu ya know?

But I really love playing next to stompers, I get more perfects that way.

I usually screw up on metal pads, which then translates = I suck at the arcade. I don't know why, but I'm great on an ignition pad, but terrible on anything else. I can do heavy perfectly fine with some mess ups on songs that give me trouble, and double A everything on Standard, but when I'm at an arcade...sigh. I suck! I can't even double A breakdown on standard at the arcade, and that's freaking easy! I don't know if it's the force of my stomps or if the pads sucks, I just hate it!

Personally, i cant dance on the 1p side of the arcade around here (the pad isnt quite as good as the 2p) but ive learned only to read the 1p so i have to deal with the akwardness (im actually getting used to both the 1p pad and reading the 2p side)
im also picky about who i dance with.. i try my best not to dance next to heavy-ers or people that do a lot of showing off.. normally im next to my friend and yeah, he plays heavy but thats okay because hes not TOO much better than me, and hes normally lazy and only plays light (w00t ego boost)

When i was at my local arcade recently there was a group of younger girls there, and some were bragging about doing standard mode. (and they played saints 2 times every round

)

Anyway my turn comes around and they all hover around the pad and on the bar.

Because the games set on joint premium i put the right side on. Pick era, heavy dark sudden. the song starts and im listening to the beat...then all I hear in the loudest voices ever behind me is

"Your PLAYING ON THE WRONG SIDE!!!!one11!"

and they countinue to yell this at me even after arrows beging to show up (and I totally screw up the first batch cuz of there yelling.) So that was interesting.

other stuff is when people talk when im going for a high score on pop 4

. I want to slap the bastard.

Children, yeah

People who shadow dont bother me too much unless they act like a idiot or step really off beat. And it also would be nice if they asked.

what really pisses me off is when people just look at me when i get off the machine. i have just failed max300 heavy, so that means they put it on the first song just to prove to me THEY can do it. wtf... also, when it's you and one other person waiting to play, they have to be all cool and put the "token" up there to make sure they're next.......we're the only ones playing here. i'm a respectable person, i play a game, and if someone's waiting, i get off after a game and switch off.
but what pisses me off the most is when people like to come in behind me and act all stupid about dancing. they will be like "yeah, main, that is tight," and all this crap. they get up and start dancing like some stupid cript walk, but just can't grasp the concept of the game. they like to make fun to show off for their "Possie" good job guys, you just made your whole group look like losers.

Terminator, it might not be you, but there are several DDR players that play nonstop and don't let other people play. I've seen it before, so that pet peeve you just gotta get over, because it's not meant towards you.

The things that throw me off are:

Fatigue: Legs start feeling like goo, I lose the interpretation of the arrows my grades start a droppin'!

Talkers: Sometimes I can tolerate them, but other times they can throw me off just like that

My Mom: She seems to know when to come out of her room (her bedroom door just so happens to be next to the entertianment center .... Whenever I'm FCing a song, she comes out and distracts the hell outta me....

Spectators (Though not as much anymore): Since I'm starting to play a little better on the machines, I don't mind having spectators around....Though I tend to play a little better when no one's watching.... No one can see me fail!

The Arcade Pads: While I know that the machines are THE place too test your skills, some of them stick like crazy!

And is anyone else having this problem? I gotta step (I don't stomp anymore

) on the really long freeze arrows to keep myself from getting a N.G.....

I guess I really got lucky in the dreaded "Ghetto People and "Unsupervized Brats from Hell" Department, though.....But I think I might've jinxed that now that I've said that....

But the only thing that could be annoying would have to be children that think its fun to run accross in fron of the pads(usually when Im playing Double) And thats when I kick them and hit them against the machine. I think it's pretty fair...Really..Im not that mean...hahahaha

Or when people think it's cool to sit on the edge of the pad. Thats when I play Max 300 and stop on there damn a**.
