I'm Tony, and I've been playing DDR for about 4 months now. I started out playing stepmania on my computer using my fingers and the keyboard. Right now, I can do all songs on light, and quite a few on standard.
Finally, about a month ago, I bought DDRMAX2 for my PS2 and a pad to go along with it. I remember playing the lesson mode and failing. Now, I can do almost all 4 footers and a few 5 footers. I've been stuck at that level for about 2 or 3 weeks now, and it is really getting me mad. I feel like I will never be able to get on to 6 footer songs.
I have never played DDR in an arcade, becuase the nearest machine is an hour and a half away from where I live.
It also sucks to be the only one you know who likes DDR. My brother and all my friends think I am crazy for getting into this game.
I will be sure to keep you all updated on my lack of progress in the gameplay area... |

"Wow Mike, you have to be the best black DDR player in the state of Florida!"
"What the hell? I didn't know black people played this game!"
It's funny since I'm the only black kid around this area who plays the game, it's great how some of the spectators call me the "White Boy Beater" LMAO |

Hey...I'm SaiBa. Started about two weeks ago. I'm from Texas, and my big accomplishment right now is getting a B on Maxx Unlimited light. I know, I'm such a n00b... |

Hello everyone. I'm K-1, new here. I'm 21 and live in western New York state. I've been playing DDR for about a year now, and am an expert with the controller, My first gamepad is being shipped right now. I have played through most of DDR 5th mix and DDRMAX2.
I played percussion for 9 years, so using the controller becomes quite easy (two hand method, one on X/O/Tri/Sqr, the other on directionals. I think that using the pad will reenergize this game, and make it much more challanging. plus, I gained 20 lbs since I quit smoking, so thats the main reason for the pad purchase |

hi everyone!
i'm karena, late 20s from the SF bay area.
i've seen people playing this game at the arcades for awhile now, but never tried it myself because i was too embarassed... i didn't want everyone watching me.. hehe.. my lil 8 year old cousin finally talked me into playing it with her and i got hooked... so i talked my husband into getting it for me last month.. he kinda regrets it now because he can't ever play his video games since i'm always playing DDR
i'm starting on the DDRMAX2... thank gawd for beginner mode.. i tried playing the earlier games and got frustrated... |

Hey guys, hmm my name's Oliver and I've been playing DDR for hmm 2 years now? Well i'm 16...so yea. First played DDR with 3rd Mix Korean Version...n been playing since then (always every summer when I have time cuz of school) but now I've been going to the mall every Sunday n playing DDR.
I don't think i'm that great in terms of technicality for getting all the arrows, but I love to dance n freestyle on it so I don't really care about my grade at the end or my score...i'm just like who cares imma dance on it hehe...also play Para Para which I think i like more than DDR bcuz it allows more freedom of play n that I got into hmm 6 months ago? heh and i also freestyle on that. (I personally think more ppl should play para para...) I typically play doubles bcuz for singles, I feel confined, and I want more freedom to dance. Well, if anybody wants to see me play, I'm always at the West Covina Mall at the Tilt Arcades either playing DDR Extreme of Para Para Dancing...every Sunday around 1PM-6PM or 7 PM! I really want to see other people freestyle n dance! Cuz I don't see many ppl do that there....and I would really want to see other people play! Thanks for listening. heh =) Anyways, I want to have a gathering every Sunday with ppl, yhea? Thnx!

Hey I've been playing DDR since last year and is trying to pass the max's and levels. I also try to freestyle sometimes but costs alot of money for doubles. I also want to try out a couples ddr competition,(so that freestyle might come back....)
I used to play at illuzions(you might know me as the guy on the 4th mix, and trying to get better) with some of you mocking me. |

While I've been lurking around these forums for a long while, I just registered an account here today... I don't actually have DDR, but have played it at the arcade numerous times over the past year or so (unfortunatly, not frequently to gain any kind of real skill in it) and plan on getting the home version within a matter of weeks. So, yeah, I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to DDR and the DDR Freak forums. Still, I figured introducing myself is a good way to start, so... here I am. |
