Right now I'm planning to start a school DDR club. If anybody's school has one of these or if you plan to start/have started one any positive feedback would be nice. Such as if I should pool money from all the members to buy a community pad or just use ones that we own, and if a lot of people joined, etc.
When I get a little older I'm most likely going to be starting a small arcade in an abandoned Thrift Market not far from where I live. If there are any arcade owners out there that would like to comment on such things as how many machines, what types, costs, what other machines, possiblily of food, etc. It would be much appreciated. _________________

School ddr clubs can be difficult to have. Lots of people will just come who don't really play. School rules will usually say that you cannot prevent certain people from going.
So picture that you and a bunch of friends wanted to have fun, but then thirty other people come and ruin your fun and the school says you can't do anything about it. |

Hmm, I never thought of that possibility...
Did that happen to you? Or are you just talking hypothetically. Seems like something to take into consideration.. _________________

Yeah, I don't like the idea of a DDR club at school. If ya wanna play DDR with friends, just play DDR with friends. Don't let the opportunity arise to let a whole bunch of other people come and don't actually want to learn to play, but just goof off and be annoying.
I personally hate it when a whole bunch of people tag along with someone to the arcade and just sit and stare and/or talk really loud. I just wish people who came to play DDR or are interested would just PLAY. And not worry about feeling dumb..

Very well said. I guess the point of having a club would being able to look forward to set dates of DDR, and meeting new players. Eventually the newbies would leave/get better, I hope. Also, stuck up, idiot, and snobby people who (maybe) suck at DDR won't want to go in the room, much less join. Not sure, but I'm going to give it one month. Starting this week, as soon as I get permission to start the club from the principal. Then I have the problem of getting a room..
A few good things, howeve include the fact that if we get roughly 20 members, which I'm planning to get, we can each pool (if we decide to..) 5-10 bucks and get one or two ignitions, which will be great for this. It also mainly depends on the skill, and if we need something so expensive.

A semi-friend of mine who goes to my school has talked to me about starting a DDR club...
Personally, I think it's a pretty good idea, when under the following circumstances
a) No Middle schoolers. Being an 8th grader right now, I know how stupid middle schooers are. o.o; One thing is to wait until high schoolers to get rid of the children.
b) Try to hold it at an arcade so that your hard/soft pad doesn't get the abuse of 10 people playing it over and over and over. >_>;
I guess thats all I have to say. o.o; _________________

Good news, for me at least..
I'm starting the club next week. I think we're having like 10-20 members.. mainly friends of my friends. It should be fun!

Which is why I'm using my friend's pads. <_< _________________

I know of a high-school by where I live that has an Extreme machine in their gym. They count DDR as an excersice and an actiavity. The school actually paid for a machine! Lucky bastards.... _________________

I heard one of the vending guys say something like DDR machines cost about 3000
i don't know if thats new or old or whatever but something to think about.
On campus where i go to school, there's a video game club. I never took interest but i'm sure they also talk about DDR too. We also have a school arcade so it makes having a club easy because you can go right to the source if members are needed... _________________

Well when I was going to start a club here at my highschool I was thinking of just having it with certain people. Not just let anyone come to the club after school but just have a select amount of people that could join the club if they wanted to and we would all have to approve of letting them in the club.
People that would show up when you want to train or people that never show up and do not care about DDR, which would you rather have? _________________

I play DDR at lunch and maybe sometimes after trade but I don't have very many people because most people are not into DDR like or friends I know. I supply the pads but two other friends help to supply the means like the game and the PS2. I let people play on a pad I just got it was a wireless one and my friend step on one part of it and cracked the on/off switch I put that one away for but use my normal pad for other people. Have them bring or if you want let them use your but the arcade does sound like a good idea for members wise depending on the room is how member you can get also think about the way they going to play like taking turns or switching off between round and stuff like that what you could do is switch off day one group one day and another group on the next. Thats is all I got to say on that hope things go well. DDR 4 EVER |

I did, but then we all realized since I'm moving soon, that the club would fall apart, so we stopped the planning for it. I hope my new school will let us have one. _________________
