Some of these songs sound ripped, but don't forget Naoki loves to use Acid and its stock sounds. _________________

I didn't see it mentioned in the first 2, or last 2 pages, so... Why the hell are these music files about 30 MB? I mean, I can download one in about 1-2 mins, but this has to be murder for dial uppers. |

Because they're keysounded.
IIDX keysounded simfiles are usually around 30 MB, too, I think. |

alot of sounds that you would hear in ddr are probably stock sounds or royalty free sounds used by alot of producers to reduce costs.
but that's what i think anyways, can't know for sure now can we?
i think this was stated earlier.
oh, and o2jam is aight by me, the music download takes a bit too long but it's fun nonetheless, especially since threre's iidx near me. _________________

Dunno if anyone made a guide for this yet, but here is one I just wrote. It SHOULD work this way since my account did.
GUIDE TO PLAYING O2JAM
DOWNLOADING
1. Go to http://o2jam.e-games.com.my/index.asp
2. Click "Download", you cant miss it
3. Save it to your disk and run it when done. Let it install completely
NOTE: The installer wont create any shortcuts!
REGISTERING
1. Go to http://o2jam.e-games.com.my/index.asp
2. Click "Join", near the top
3. Fill in all the fields and click "Submit"
4. Confirm the settings and click "Confirm"
5. On the next screen, click on the button Send Free CD Key
6. An E-Mail will be sent to your entered E-Mail account. Click on the link in this E-Mail and your account works!
PLAYING
1. Go to http://o2jam.e-games.com.my/index.asp
2. Click on Play
3. You will be taken to a login screen. Enter your details and press Login
4. You will be taken to the previous screen. Once again, click Play
5. Wait till the patcher is done getting patches. Click Start when its done
6. Wait till you get to the world select screen. Not much to do here yet, just click Enter
7. Now you are on the main screen! Everything should be self-explanatory from here on. If you need help, try looking on http://o2jam.e-games.com.my/index.asp or feel free to ask me in this thread! |

Even after I registered with the free CD key (as Rutto mentioned), I'm still getting the billing error. Anyone know why?

I'm still waiting for the e-mailed "free CD key" it said they would send me after registering my account. It's been two hours. WTF. I'm thinking about making another account with a different e-mail address, cause maybe they screwed up with the last one or something. But something tell me this is just gonna happen again. Man, I just wanna play _________________

Well, mine works now. For some reason, it just took a couple hours for them to get it working, or something. I'm nots ure.
I think it's really fun. I haven't played any IIDX, so I think it's incredibly difficult, even on easy. I'm level 5 right now, but I'm getting better. There just seems to be a lot of lag. I'm on a college network, so it's definitely not coming from my end. The lag seems to come when there's a break without any notes, but then once I get a score of some sort, it works again. Quite strange.

Holy crap this game is laggy. Sometimes when I hit a key it doesn't even register. And the songs just go out of sync after a few notes. blech, no thanks. Maybe if there was an offline version where you could practice or something, but I can't play on their servers without lagging out of sync. _________________

Yeah, I definitely don't understand it either. It's so weird, because it only happens when there's a string without notes.
I think there's something conficting with it. It's weird, because when the program starts up, I can see the opeing o2jams screen, but it's got alternating black bars covering up some of the picture, if that makes sense.
So, it looks like:
Black bar
Section of Opening Screen
Black Bar
Section of Opening Screen
etc.
So, it's really strange. I have a pretty good laptop, and I exceed all the system requirements, so I don't know what the deal is either.
Oh, and I know it's not the connection. It works perfectly fine on my roommate's computer.

Wow, well I game O2Jam a try.
Now I can't tell because I haven't hosted but I have not played a hard stage..... except the first with default keys..... that was stupid
Can anyone tell me what the hardest song is supposed to be? I am curious to see what the upper limit of difficulty for this game is. |

The hardest song you get as default is %5, which i can get about 3/4 the way through
Anyway, meh. I broke my keyboard, and now the z key doesn't work unless i hold it for a few seconds, obviously not good for o2jam (i was using zsxdcfv as my key setup) so I was wondering if there are any other IIDX styule layouts that let me hit 4+ keys at once? _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]
