Well, the title is pretty self-explanatory. I nominate this one and this one.

Any you got?

I like how the guy in the second review said A was bad, and that Celebrate was good. disturb.gif

Xplay usually does some pretty corny Reviews for DDR Games, the last thing I wanna see is a bunch of Interns sucking really bad...On tape...On TV, the arcade is acceptable...But TV?

What about that review where they said it was DDR Ultramix but they showed a Karaoke Revolution pic? That was bad.

X-play doesn't give that bad reviews on DDR. At least they gave it a good review. 4/5 stars isn't bad. They like the game.

Adding a 3rd didn't exactly help E4.gif

As for the topic at hand, that 2nd review isn't a "dumb" one at all. The writer is obviously knowledgeable about DDR and it's history, and is also a fan... he just doesn't like the direction in which Extreme went. The first one just sounds like a troll.

Here is the page about which you speak. It is horrible. I would give this paper an E. Not for effort. They failed, baby.

wow the people on gamefaqs.com, they deserve to die. the only reason they gave it a very bad review is cause they suck at it and people laughed at them. laugh.gif

Don't worry too much about the GameFAQs reviews. Most readers don't know how to write a proper game review, going for the generic grouping of game qualities like "Music/Sound", "Graphics", "Storyline", "Replay Value", "Play Control", etc. It's a lot grayer than that.

They all probably read way too much GamePro.

The first reviewer is just mad because he sucked at the game.

The second was overly critical of Extreme (I think) and his list of "good" songs is very different then mine. I think that a good number of the Beatmania songs are as danceable as any others.

The Karyoke Revolution shot that was supposed to be Ultramix...to me that scream lazyness on the part of the reporter...

The second reviewer is within reason when he says:

Quote:
The last 1/3 of DDR Extreme's huge flaws is the sound quality. No matter what condition your arcade's speakers are this is the worst DDR mix for sound quality. Going back to the CD ROM issue, Konami stuffed 200 plus songs on a single CD ROM. All the songs run at 112kbps which is piss poor sound quality. Konami, please don't do this again. DVD ROM is the best move you can make.

Although his song opinions don't matter, what he says there is true, the sound quality itself is pretty lacking. I have a very ambitious speaker set up on my own computer and when listening to DDR songs ripped straight off CD's the sounds have always blurred, theres never any real high quality highs or lows, and I've always been dissapointed Trip Machine's ringing didn't blow out more ears at the arcade due to this. The first guy was an idiot, but The second had some valid points. I don't necesarily agree with his song selections, but he knows what he's talking about.
