I was wondering where most people do better, at home or at the arcade?

I find I do better at home because the arcade doesn't always register my freeze arrows. I'm also just used to playing on my (somewhat ripped/full of duct tape) soft pad. I also have my TV a lot lower than the screen at the arcade (because I'm short E2.gif ).

If this doesn't belong here please move. Thanx.

home all the way, d00d. I can't get AAA's at the arcade, because the Perfect window is WAY smaller.

I say home all the way! I'm still not very good at DDR and at the arcade there are always people watching me make a fool of myself, so at home i can do really bad and not feel stupid biggrin.gif

Definitely at the Arcade

When there are spectators and other people watching, that's motivation for you to do better, and I usually do. Plus, it's a better experience

I'd definitely go with home. There aren't as many distractions and the arcades around me have horrible pads.

i always do better at home...that may have something to do with the fact that i have DDMax2 at home and the arcade has DDREXTREME so there is all different songs.

I hate my pads. They're soft, so they slip about on my hard wood floor. I totally do much better on the arcade's metal pads. E13.gif

Id say at home. I have gotten 9 AAA's at home on my metal dance pads but none in the arcade.

Well, I do much better at home and I like the pad better, but I love crowds, especially when they've never seen anyone play before.

Definately arcade. Home pads aren't good at all, in my opinion (crack too easily if hard pads, slip too much if soft pads.) Though my friend has an authentic DDR arcade style pad.

The perfect window is too big on home versions, too. Which gives you less of a challenge, and I don't like that. Playing on the controller isn't that much fun, either. And you get sick of only about 40-50 songs, too.

Plus when you go to the arcade, you have a chance to meet new people, have an excuse to get out of the house more, and just everything. The spectators also are fun. Even if you don't like the skill level you're at, when people see ya, you get more confidence as time goes by, and you just strive to get better. But if you play at home all the time, and aren't used to people seeing you, if you go to the arcade and play, you're going to feel akward. It's kinda hard to jump into something like that after you're used to playing at home all the time. Plus, since the perfect window is smaller, and the pads are designed just a bit differently, it's also going to be harder.

Just my opinion, though. E13.gif
