Anyway has anyone here besides me or PostBjork even played this game? I think no matter what the song list turns out to be it'll still be fun. _________________

Hell yeah. I wonder where Namco is gonna throw the machine, now that Aladdin's Castle is gone? _________________

Not if they want it to......make money =/
Seriously, I think I'm at least half correct when I say 90% of mainstream US players (not Bemani players, I mean the mainstream folks that go for games like GTA3 and such) would NOT go for the "quirky" Japanese games as much as we Bemani players would. This is one of the reasons why Konami won't bring Pop'n Music or any other Bemani than DDR over here.

I love Taiko - I have 2 and 3.
But I can't say I agree. I have different tastes in music, and generally don't like 90% of US rock and whatnot. I'm more of a Japan man, myself. But I don't represent the average US mainstreamer, so I don't count
But of course, once it DOES come out here, no matter what it looks or sounds like, I'm still going to buy it just to say I gave it a chance _________________

Speaking of AC......
I'm surprised there aren't ALOT more Taiko machines in the USA.
There are no Taiko machines here in NE, and I doubt there ever will be.
But here's the thing, there are ALOT of Cyberstations (arcades run by Namco). I'm REALLY surprised Namco hasn't put a Taiko in each of their Cyberstations (or all their other arcade chains like Alladin's Castle) just to see how much money it makes. It would definitely be a good business move just to see how much acceptance it would get from the American market. _________________

The one we had here in Illinois was only supposed to be there for testing, but ended up staying here for months in two different arcades. I'm not argueing _________________

To all/any that only have played the home version of Taiko no Tatsujin: You NEED, ABSOLUTELY MUST play at the arcade. It's big and thus tons more fun. |

I just played TNT at Chicago Ridge for the first time this weekend and it's my new favorite rhythm game. I don't know how it could possibly be nearly as fun at home on a tiny little controller though...Still, I'll support it if it's released in the US. _________________

I hope they release it here soon. I could import it but I would rather buy a US version since it will probably cost a lot less and I would rather spend the money saved on games that won't be released in the US |

Namco Cybertainment (the American arcade division) and Namco (the people who develop games) have nothing to do with one another except for the name and the fact that in the end, all their revenue ends up in about the same place. To obtain Namco games, they still have to go through the same distribution channels as any other arcade. I know, it makes no sense. Don't ask me to try to explain it. _________________
