Given that its still fun with the midget controller, I'll go with that. Since there no way in hell I'll ever play it at an arcade(so I'll never really see much a fun factor difference), and I dont want to risk spending money on an ASC and NOT liking the game. I'll buy/trade(I have BM/IIDX stuff I barely even touch anymore) for a midget controller, but if I really come to like the game, I'll save my checks up for an Ransai.

LOL, it was simply a joke. I have a homemade DDR pad as well that I don't think I would ever part with, even though I hardly use it anymore.

Play-asia recently got some stock of beatmania IIDX controllers and are selling them for $69. I ordered one, shipping was about 35 bucks, still a good deal though for people looking for the controller.

Has anyone tried the Wax Paper mod for their IIDX controllers its incredible.

There go the directions, I was told wax paper works better than the CC bags. My IIDX turntable can spin around 3 times now!

Those Ransai controllers are so girly, yet sexy looking. I want one. happy.gif;;

Unless I get a job, I won't have that kind of money until August, though...

Hey, I recently bought Gitadora (guitar freaks 4th, drummania 3rd), and I have a yamaha DD-55, my question is, using the UX-16 MIDI-USB adapter, what am I supposed to do to make the game recognize the drum kit as a controller?? I know it says how to in the book, but downside is that I can't read Japanese, so if anyone here has done this, please let me know how to do it, thank you E1.gif.

Connect the UX16 to MIDI out and your computer, install the UX16 drivers.
I'm not exactly familiar with the Yamaha DD55, but with the Yamaha DTXpress, and you have to configure the MIDI settings:

Input Attenuation: MIDI
MIDI control = on
Midi Sync Mode= Ext

At least that's how it works on the DTX, probably a little different on the DD55.
After that just fire up DTXMania (or Drummidi) and it should detect the drums automatically.

For more info about it check out my site at www.homei.cc/gdas

For modding the 2DX controller, the official Konami one, how does filing the keys help? And where do you shave? I don't get the mod on Bemanistyle.com

Also, would I need to mod a ASC controller? (IIDX)

I didnt bother filing my keys, just put in the cardboard and youve fixed alot of the problems. Some people take out the springs in their ASC to make it quieter.

I haven't really noticed any problem with my IIDX controller... Usually when I miss a key, I know it's my fault. happy.gif;; I seem unable to get flashing Greats with the turntable, but that's probably due to overzealous scratching (I'm barely out of Beginner and overzealous scratching makes me happy).

Try the wax paper mod on Bemanistyle for help fixing your turntable.

The black things in the sides of the keys don't seem to affect whether the buttons stick or not. However, it sounds much better if you leave them in, so I'd recommend that.

if you plug a drummania pedal into it, pressing the pedal presses select. For now, all that does is change the effector, but it's assumed that Konami was planning ahead for a home release of Beatmania III.

I'm considering getting a Topway DM controller (Konami's like 3x the price). I'm wondering, is it worth it to get the Konami, or does the Topway work good? I heard the Topway ones smell funny.
