I have never posted on the forum before, but I would like to ask everone a favor. I would like any or every one to go to Karaoke Revolutions offial site and make a request for J-pop and songs from anime. I figure that the only way they would listen to a request such as this it would take a lot of people, and I figured what better people then you guys. Here is a like to the site http://www.onlineregister.com/konami/karaoke/cgi/
Thank you for your help (and pardon any bad grammer and or misspells.) |

If you want J-pop songs, buy the Japanese "mixes" that (gasp) have J-pop songs. They're trying to market a Bemani game to Americans for once and people like you are ruining it. _________________

How bout American Mainstream music sucks and we're more likely to get J-pop other than actual, GOOD American music |

The Japanese Karaoke Revolution is crap. The songs are awesome, and the KR games in Japan have much better songlists than the craptacular one the USA got, but the KR games in Japan AREN'T the same.
Basically, you don't even "play" the song. As in, the game doesn't "listen" to your pitch and doesn't tell you if you're doing it right, etc. Basically, it just plays the music, puts the words up on the screen, and you sing. It's just like regular Karaoke - there's no "winning or losing" a song. Hence, why it's incredibly boring. You might as well just go to a local bar and play the songs you want there.. _________________

Do you know what karaoke is? It's where people who don't know how to sing get up on stage and make a fool of themselves singing some crappy pop song. Here in America, we typically do it to American pop songs, because those are the songs everyone is familiar with. The percentage of people who would buy the game for its J-pop songs is much smaller than the percentage of people who would be turned off by them. _________________

Ya know, I almost have to wonder what the Japanese equals of us think of their mainstream stuff. Do they sit there and say how sick and tired they are of bland, talentless Hamasaki Ayumi songs and giggle about A-Pop artists like Avril Lavigne pumping out new singles? Do they sit there and go (in Japanese of course), "Aw, great, another KR mix with TM Revolution on it. Couldn't Konami of Japan just get a clue and put some old Van Halen on OURS, too?" If so, I'd freakin' laugh until I died.
Anyway, it'll be a cold day in hell before I go to Konami's site and waste a vote on a genre that WON'T make it into an American Karaoke Revolution when there are SO many good songs to put on there, both old and new. Oldies but goldies like Respect or Against The Wind or Your Song, or maybe even throw in a bit of Latin with La Bamba if you don't want American songs on an American game. How about some more 80's stuff? Heck, even from Europe! The Cure, Duran Duran, and Depeche Mode got some songs that are DYING to get put onto this. Or the band Europe could get The Final Countdown on there. How about early 90's club hits or fun hip-hop? Ace of Base? I could even think of some pop and rock songs that would be fun to put on there from earlier this decade.
My point is this...you're not Japanese, and neither is this game. Get over it. _________________
