Bonus Stage's appearance is random, from what I believe. I seem to find them often when playing in Challenge mode, but if I am doing something special, I've yet to figure it out. I'd simply spend some time with challange mode earning the standard EX stage, and occasionally it will pop up.

Are there any kind of mods beside the carpet padding mod for my Pop'n ASC.

Here's something odd I just noticed, see if it tickles your odd bone too....

I just noticed that Trauma Punk Hyper - a shit easy song - and Classic 8 EX - a song which only less than 1% of Pop'n players can even PASS - have almost the same amount of keys - a little over 900. What the HELL is up with that?! How the hell can a song so easy and a song that's almost impossible to beat have the same amount of keys?

I mean, in IIDX, you can pretty much tell the difficulty by how many keys are in the song - but Pop'n, it's a damn mystery E10.gif

Well, Trama Punk on Hyper may have 900 notes because of the fact that most of the song is just pushing the same 2 or 3 buttons at the same time over and over again several times in the song to those lyrics. But in Classic 8 EX, the notes are just seem to follow the Piano perfectly, I've seen it and just looks insane.

Pop'n Music's 1 to 5 had very small, shitty songlists, imo. Not sure about upgrading, but make damn sure that whatever you get, upgrade them to at LEAST 6.

ee-mall is like a virtual shop/game thing. you can purchase songs to play in pop'n 9 (with the original ee-mall), pop'n 10, and gf10th/dm9th (with ee-mall 2nd avenue). of course this means ee-mall is totally unavailable here because it requires having an eamuse card to save your data on, and you need to be connected to konami's network in japan to use it.

yeah, i've seen those ee-mall 2nd avenue machines around, but it costs about $1 (100 yen) to use it, so i haven't bothered to try it. I haven't really checked out what it says you can do on the machine, though.

maybe next time i go to the arcade i can try and take a pic if you haven't seen the machine before.

pop'n 9 SP is coming -really- soon. o.O

If you noticed there were two sets - the more expensive set included an extra cup and coaster set, so you could use one and keep the other in pristine condition. The preorder date for that set was a little earlier, and has since passed, so I don't think you can get it anymore. The regular SP still seems to be up for order at konamistyle, though.

Other than that, I have no idea what's in the SP, since I'm not really good at reading written Japanese. But I think the pictures should be enough... o.O

that'd be awesome if you could. by the way, if you do play pop'n a lot, you should try using ee-mall. all the songs on it are only available from purchasing them in ee-mall, which includes all new songs and bemani transplants (rottel-da-sun =D). you can find the current songlist here. judging by the massive list from ee-mall 1st avenue, there may still be more songs available later on.

the cup-kun set was only available till 12/14. the normal special pack comes with the rest of what was in the first one: v-rare7, a pop-kun keychain, and another bag. himeya's still taking preorders for it, for $110!

So lemme get this straight. Any arcades in the USA that get Pop'n 9 or 10 (and I believe a Pop'n 9 does exist in Cali) are doomed to be without a certain set of songs, and there's NO OTHER way to unlock these songs than to do that ee-mall thing?

bleh.....

that's right, but fortunately, pop'n 9 cs is going to have ee-mall 1st avenue songs, as well as songs from 10 and other old versions. and cs originals!

Actually, that's just Pop'n 1 to 4. Pop'n 5 had a surprisingly large songlist with lots of great songs, only with the CS, you had to put in these big long combinations of codes to unlock them. Not too fun. But really, 5 is a good mix.

I'm so glad I'm having konamistyle ship it to a friend in Japan to ship to me. That'll cost me a LOT less than $110, especially since I'm not getting the more expensive set. Though, the way USD is stacking up against yen these days... --;;

Note that, if the konamistyle pages can be believed, it's as I said before - both sets have at least one cup-kun - the other set simply had two instead of one, for 1000 yen more.

I'm also up to some 3 bags now... They should make one that fits the ASC, since it doesn't quite fit in the one that came with pop'n Best Hits SP ^^;;;
