I've been wondering if and how EXTREME USA will use the sort by mix mode. Obviously we'll have standard, alphabetical, BPM and popular, but what about sort by mix? I'm thinking that if we have sort by mix, it'll be split into these categories:

DDR EXTREME
DDRMAX2
DDRMAX
DDR Konamix
Dance Dance Revolution
DDR Ultramix
Karaoke Revolution
DDR Disney Mix (probably not)

since these were all of the Bemani games released in the US. I'm pretty sure we'll be getting a few songs from Karaoke Revolution. Speaking o

If which, if Bemani teams up with Harmonix again maybe we could get some songs from Frequency and Amplitude!

Now, here's another thing to ponder over: EXTREME for the arcades had a ton of repeats in it. I'd venture to say more than half of the songs appeared in DDR previously. Do you think this mix will also be repeat-heavy? If so, what songs do you think they will repeat?

And, of course, we already know that aside from the four songs listed in the screenshot, we'll have Highs Off U. Any other Dancemania songs you think will be in there? Cartoon Heroes is the only one I really want.

Dude that would be so totally sweet if they did that. Don't forget like Beatmania IIDX, Para Para, etc.

I'm sure KOA won't ignore Beatmania and the other BEMANI games all together. Although they may group them together and put Beatmania Series, and like OTHER Bemani

Considering how in Konamix, there was a Beatmania folder, I think that if there's a sort series option they will have the names of other Bemani series. However, I don't think SCEA (Sony) will allow an Ultramix folder because that is technically promoting people to buy an Xbox. Here's what I think the folders might be:

DDR Extreme
Max 2
Max
Konamix
DDR 1st Mix
Drummania (man I hope all of the songs in this folder make it, esp Across The Nightmares)
Beatmania
IIDX
III
Mamba A Go Go (Mobo Moga was in that game right?)
Keyboard Mania
Dance Freaks

I doubt the Para Para Paradise Folder will make it though. If I'm missing any others please forgive me, I'm only going from the top of my head. Also, they could put in a 2nd Mix and 3rd Mix folder because before the arcade division closed down I think they did release american versions of those mixes.

Then again though, unless we get more than 75 songs, I don't think a Sort Series option will be useful, and right now it appears we will be getting the same amount of songs as the last 2 US versions.

If they do delete the Sort Series option, I hope they add in a Sort by Artist option. Then you can find all of the Naoki songs under N or DJ Taka under D. It would be convienient if you happen to like a lot of the songs by one artist.

They could also do Sort by Music. In that one they can sort KO's by mix (Extreme, Max 2, etc) and then there can be another folder that contains all of the new liscensed music (I hope for more DJ Sammy and Castles in the Sky from Ultramix).

Moba Moga is from Dance ManiaX. ParaParaParadise had only one song which was Hold On Me if I remember correctly. Therefore, it's safe to assume that it probably will not make it.

However, I do believe that in any of the DDR US mixes released for the console they did not "delete" any of the Sort options. Therefore, I believe it will stay that way. Konamix will probably be under the Home Version name like it did in the arcade. Also, maybe some of the Ecks Bocks songs will go under the Home Version name. It would make me a little happy MoFo since I am not buying an Ecks Bocks. I'd only buy an Echs Bocks for DeeDeeAre. THat's how much of a DDRFreak I am. Bwahaha.

1 prob with KOA teaming up with harmonix for this, all of the songs they got from that would have to be cut, unless the brought back long versions,
and incase any1 didnt notice, 1/2 the songs in karaoke revolution are remakes, and they give no credit to the artists unless u sit through the credits, and no one does that.

Just an observation on repeats: I'd rather have a US mix full of repeats that were good songs as opposed to a mix with little repeats and alot of NEW filler.

If KOA and Harmonix did team up, I could imagine some songs that would be perfect for this mix, such as See It, Selecta, Control Your Body, and FreQ Out.

Good to here that both Oni and maybe Nonstop are in. As for the 100+ Minutes = 60+ songs thing, what if this could mean that they will use less repeats? But the release date seems to be I think Q3 2004 accourding to Gamespot. That's I think somewhere around the fall, so the 100+ song thing may happen.

And I hope this time they add long songs, mainly "B4U Glorious Style".

No kidding! I really hope they add long songs too...B4U Glorious Style is my all time favorite song...

But I'm excited, I think this game will be well worth the wait.

Minor concern... but I think there's a possibilty of the Extreme/Party Collection laziness. I.E. Ready/Go screens will be from Max2 and announcer during end of oni will say "You were doing all right till halfway!". Hopefully they'll have the decency to correct that for a US release.

captain jack (grandale remix)

and theres a big songlist file that features on all cs games, listing all the songs ever, some of these include

Stayin' Alive
Come Into My World (Kylie)
Hey Mickey
Stronger (Britney)

heck, maybe you'll get another Captain Jack song, like Only You...
i hope you get most of the KOs from extreme.

I expect to see EVERY IIDX song from Extreme arcade on this new home version and I expect to see at least 100 songs on this new mix. I don't want a lousy 68 songs with songs from other home mixes and lousy U.S. exclusives because U.S. techno sucks! disgust.gif

I like the songs so far. Now since this is extreme, I'm gonna say a few things that they better add or THIS IS NO EXTREME by any means.

To this I say: what was THE defining feature of DDRMAX2? Oni mode. And when MAX2 USA came out, it was missing Oni mode, THE defining feature of DDRMAX2. So never underestimate KCET's ability to leave Extreme's features out of Extreme USA.

Anyway, yeah. Extreme USA should DEFINITELY have online features if they want to keep the series fresh. I'm going to buy it anyway, as I did the last bunch of USA games, because I support them... but MAX2 didn't even last two weeks for me. No Oni mode + no online features = nothing to keep me occupied since I have all the imports. It's good to see that Oni is back... I just hope they don't screw it up this time.

As far as online features, of course it should have head-to-head online matches, but ABSOLUTELY it should have online edit trading. THAT would extend the life of the game exponentially. Being able to go on and try edits created all over the world would just be excellent. As far as downloadable songs...

Quote:

You wouldn't be using memory cards; you'd be using the hard drive. It comes out in March, includes Final Fantasy XI and will cost $99.
Downloadable songs would be nice, but I don't expect it... $99 is quite steep--out of the range of most gamers--and although I'm getting it to play FFXI (along with many others, I'm sure), I'm pretty sure it'll turn out to be just another failed peripheral overall.

I also wouldn't expect to see courses like Trip Five and Paranoia Brothers. If we're only getting ~70 songs again, they're not going to waste 10 of them on Trip Machines and Paranoias... I hope.
And, I wouldn't expect many of Extreme's more Japanese songs, like the pop'n'music songs (Daikenkai, Door Of Magic, etc.). Go get a fliptop case and swap discs, or a modchip, and import.
Lastly... ugh, I hate them for calling it Extreme. Just what we needed, another game named the exact same thing as the arcade and Japanese versions. It's already bad enough... when someone says "DDRMAX2," you don't know what the heck they're talking about. Arcade, PS2 or American version? Grrr, why couldn't they have called it DDRMAX3?

And yes, DDR was first released in 1998. Check the copyright dates and 5th MIX's Gallery... and the SONG if you need proof.

And btw, all "suggestions" and "ideas" are pointless (including mine), because you know the game's already fully planned and possibly even finished. They're probably just finishing the licensing arrangements and (maybe) getting the online stuff tested.

What seems to be happening since in terms of what we're getting is since the us home version seemed to have been coming out after the next arcade version came out, we got maxusa when max2 was out and then max2usa when extreme was out. is that we're kind of getting what is popular with the current arcade machine but not everything from it. They leave the extra and one more try stages alone, grab some songs here and there then take whatever is more popular in the arcade like ddrmaxusa got oni from max2, nonstop I assume was more popular at time from extreme so max2usa got it, and now since more people seem to play oni they're giving oni back to the extreme usa mix. The only things I can't seems to fit into this theory is the dancers, the endless mode, and then this mission mode that sounds like from ultramix. I work at an arcade and been playing/watching this trend kind of take place for ddr. If this is gonna apply to usa extreme I would say 2 songs were gonna get no matter what are legend of max and ddr for our extra and one more try stages. I wouldn't be surprised to see something of what gonna be in ddr 9th mix.

EDIT: -_- Dude, I highly doubt any of the songs you named will make it.

1) KOA has put Dancemania in DDR and there was quite a lot in MAX2, BUT it's usually Dance and Techno, Butterfly is OUT probably, Dam Dariram wouldn't shock me if it made it, and Captain Jack would come as no surprise either.

Uhm...Only You is not really a song I could see KOA using, since they focus on dance music a lot and would not use a license for something like Only You (which is a cool song IMO BTW) But then why the f**k would

Konami use any of the songs you mentioned as licenses, at the bottom. NONE are dance/club/techno songs, I'm sure KOA would like to avoid Britney Spears right now, and who would buy the game if Hey Mickey was in it...

One thing I wish people on this board remembered Konami of America puts music they think most Americans would like, NOT what YOU[/i] would like...

I would be satisfied with a game that had only those three songs...

[Edit: DDR was released in 1998, what year did it hit US soil?]

I'll be extremely happy if any of the following songs make it to EXTREME:
-The Legend of Max
-Daikenkai
-A
-V
-Midnight Blaze (SySF Mix)
-B4U ~Glorious Style~
-Stoic
-Sync (probably won't happen but I wish every night this will happen)
-MAX (period)
-Memories
-Frozen Ray
-Blue Impulse

All of those songs make me droll, as most (or all) are from the arcade version of DDR EXTREME. I just love Sync. I hope Konami doesn't screw this up. I'm really hoping for some NEW songs, not just crappy repeats like "I was the One." Down to hell with that song already!!
