Haha, I had to create this thread because back then, I thought the power pad was cool. And when people first saw DDR, they said "hey, it's like that power pad game". Uh....not quite. blink.gif The power pad never worked.

"Nintendo Power Pad?" Never heard of it. Do you have a link or something to explain what it is?

Please....I don't want to get shot for this laugh.gif I found these pictures on ebay.

If I recall...there is even a game that required 6 people to play on a pad. Hopefully, you get some friends that aren't all the same sex. Just picture that. laugh.gif

Don't remember World Class Track Meet? Yeah, right! That was my favorite game to play when I was 3 (of course, I sucked at it.) My favorite game, though, was Super Mario Bros. I would beg my dad to save the princess while I watch. laugh.gif

The power pad owned!! I loved world class track meet and there was one other game I played on the power pad but I forget the name of it lol You were this little guy and had to run thru these courses before the turtle at the bottom got to the finish line before you did. You had to go thru obsticals along the way and boy some of them were hard. lol....i eventually mastered it tho.

Do you guys even remember the characters you had to race in world class track meet.

rabbit
cheetah

That's all I can remember. I know you guys pulled up a chair and just pounded your feet on the mat. Haha...that or slaped the pad with your hands till they were cherry red.

Ugh, I remember them. I believe I was able to make it to the fourth or fifth opponent before I finally just couldn't beat them.

And games that involved three people standing in a line? laugh.gif That was so fun.

Call it nostalgia, but the Power Pad and classic NES games for it kicked so much more buttocks than DDR ever will. It was just ... more fun!

I always thought of the power pad as a refreshing change from tapping A and B really fast on the controller... I sucked with the thing though... Just watched friends use it...

The power pad... Good memories, but doesn't hold a candle to DDR. I mean, come on, all the power pad did for me was taught me how to sit on the floor and pound the living hell out of the bloody thing with my hands. And with two people, you could get that crazy pixel guy to run faster than my Buick. DDR, on the other hand, gets me off of my fat buttocks and makes me actually move.

My drumsticks > Kilty laugh.gif . Not even Cheetah could beat me in World Class Track Meet. I have an NES, the game and one or two power pads at school. If you came and visited me I'm sure you can beat me now since I haven't held a pair of drumsticks in 6 years.

The power pad/ world class track meet was seriously one of the best games I have played. I actually used my feet. There were Cheetah, Bobcat (i think) rabbit, bear, and some others!

Since everyone is getting off topic, and not really talking about DDR, maybe this should be in Non music games? But we are talking about the home pad aspect of it, so maybe not.

the power pad was so much fun and still is today(for running purposes anyway) the last person really couldn't be beat by one person running alone(unless someone had a lot of stamina) especially when having to jump over hurdles at the same time.

now I know you people played burger time or burger jump(I can't remember the name) a customer comes in and places a order on what he or she wants on his/her burger. In a simon says type of game, the customer jumps on the ingredient and you then have to jump on the right buttons(each button corresponded to a particular topping). as the levels when on, the burger get's higher and higher and it gets easier to forget. 3 mistakes and the game is over.

TAO-good times...

actually you don't really have to run that fast.. when I played with power pad I just used my heels and kept the front part of my foot ont he ground, then you're really just flexing your leg which anyone can do really fast.
