If you are going to use it without the wireless feature don't buy it. For that much money just buy another pad, like spend a couple more bucks and get a BNS ignition

Truely, Pelican makes really good products but wireless I wouldn't trust for another couple of years. Just get a BNS or a RO, good quality pads.

My word of advice - DON'T get the Pelican wireless pad under any circumstance. It sucks!

You have to keep your game system on the floor so that the receiver is level with the wireless sensor on the pad (big problem if you live in an apartment, or are on an upper floor where the floor will vibrate). I found that the pad was completely unresponsive, even when the receiver was placed mere inches from the pad itself. I ended up with more misses on 2-foot LIGHT level songs then I have ever had in my life, even when I first started playing!

Don't buy it.

It's central area is circular and cuts into the square arrows. I often found myself stepping on a hard cord on the inside part of the arrow, leading to decreased PA, and overall success.

Blah. A wireless pad would definately not give a good responce to the system, you'd always be x seconds off.

A Bluetooth pad would work fine.

I'm a N008, but have the pad. I really like it. As for the problem with console on the ground, I allready owned an extension cord. Right now, my only problem is that I'm right now having a problem with the buttons inside the pad getting bunched up/ moved around in their spots.(I'm not sure which) Anyone have advice for that. I still haven't gone through the proccess of a mod. I don't trust myself to that. Since you're talking about the glow in the dark one, here's a lil fact; It's actually kinda pointless being that u can't see it unless the screen is off. Otherwise though, I like it better than the one that came with my copy of ddrmax2. Now I can play barefoot, and it doesn't move or stick to my feet. What's weird is that the one in the pic u linked to doesn't have the triangle and square buttons on the back like mine does. odd. E19.gif

Well, my experiences seem to be pretty different from most of you.

A little background: I bought Max2 and the wireless pad 4 days ago. This is my first ever DDR game, and I didn't play it in the arcades before I bought the game. So, the past few days have been pretty incredible. It's safe to say I'm now obsessed with DDR, as I've been playing 3+ hours a day. I want to go to an arcade too, but the closest one is half an hour away. But I'll go there eventually.

Anyway, this was the only pad I could find locally, so I bought it. I've found it to be an *excellent* pad. It's been very responsive, with virtually no lag time in between the time I press an arrow and when the game registers it.

True, the receiver kind of sucks. I keep my ps2 on the floor, and if the pad "strays" too far to the left or right, the receiver won't pick it up. The "no slip" bottom is pretty slippery on my carpet. I'm going to mod my pad tomorrow, hopefully, so the slipping won't be an issue.

I keep my pad 1-2 feet away from the ps2. It's the farthest I can keep it away from the receiver with the way the room is arranged.

Since I haven't played in an arcade yet, I can't compare it's performance versus the hard pads they have there. But for my home use, it's been great.

Bart
