Someone I know is looking around for a IIDX machine. What style do you recommend? |

9th style uses radically different internal hardware than the previous styles and also runs off of WindowsXP. Even though I've never played on a 9th the common consensus is that the notes on songs from previous styles lag slightly because Konami didn't redo them properly for the new software/hardware.
A IIDX machine will cost your friend a pretty penny. While it's nice to know other people's opinions that have had experience with the different styles, it would probably be best if your friend found some songlists for the different styles to see what his options are and what songs he really wants. |

He's starting up an arcade and will wait until he has enough money. Which mix has the best songlists? |

That's a matter of opinion.
Tell your friend he's going to have to mow a lot of lawns if he's ever going to save up enough to buy a machine. _________________

Yeah 6-8 are pretty good mixes. They got lots of songs and lots of variety too.
You could always save for a 10th mix too. |

The timing issues on 9th Style don't just affect old songs. Switch isn't lined up for crap.
However... if you're talking about starting an arcade, 9th (or 10th) does have a big advantages over previous mixes. Beginner mode. Rake in the newbies. _________________
