I play DDR with my hands. At first lots of people looked at me funny when I would roll up in my wheelchair and crawl on to the DDR pad, but now I'm well known by the DDR community in my town.

A) Wrong forum. This would go in DDR Chit-Chat, I think.
B) For some reason I don't believe you. I'm not sure why.

I'm sorry, it probably is the wrong fourm.

I never said I play on heavy. I play on Light or Basic. : ) In my town there's also a guy by the name of "Crutches". I'm better than him though.

I'll put up a video some day of me doing So Deep S4R on my hands. DDR on your hands IS very possible, ask anyone on Central New York that's ever seen me play.

Keep playing! It's inspiring to see someone break the barrier of apparant limits.

yea, if I play DDR Ultramix at home with the dancepad, it'll knock over the fishtank, but people complain when I play online with the controller, so I bust out the pad and use my hands... I can full combo Max300 with my hands on a homepad.... I can get to the freeze of Unlimited extra stage on a MAX2 machine at the arcade using my hands.

That is really cool. Sometimes when I play with someone else I like to play on Standard. Maybe Heavy if it's like a 6 footed song. But I would really like to be very good.

Yo, that's crazy! Congrats on growing a pair and getting up on the pad in the first place.

Adamn, I've got to see that S4R So Deep play. I'd imagine your hands have to KILL after a play of that.

Do people who can't see out of one eye count as handicapped DDR players?

More power to all of you. Remember that there are no disabled people, just people with different levels of ability. We all have our limits.

I don't know, but if they do, you can count me as one. I became permanently blind out of my left eye when I was 10. frust.gif

Not to insult either of you, but if you play doubles, then yeah - I would say you are at a disadvantage.

I close one eye for awhile and I feel a bit trapped - it pisses me off - and I want to open it again.
But to be like this forever? I'm sorry, guys. I really wish things were different for you.

And Shawn... thumb.gif

I've been wondering if there were any people who were handicapped (don't know which term is more politically correct) who play. I was thinking about an audio-clue system for people who are blind. A certain tone that is seperate from the music, different pitch for each direction and a variation for both and holds. (Tone obviously given before the arrow hits the landing area.)

No insult taken, and you're probably right about the problem with doubles. I haven't tried doubles yet, but having just half of a normal field of vision can definitely be a problem in this case.

Yeah, most people feel the same way when they try it, because it not only halves your field of vision, it also screws up your depth perception. I got used to it after a while, but it wasn't easy.
